NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' co-host launched into a furious rant against Sen Marco Rubio (R-Fla) for comparing the conviction of Donald Trump in the NY criminal hush money trial to the trials that took place in Cuba under the leadership of Fidel Castro, during the Monday, June 3 episode of the show.

Trump was unanimously found guilty by a 12-member jury panel of 34 felony counts for falsifying business records on May 30. It was a historic moment for the United States as Trump became the first former President of the country to be criminally convicted. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.

According to Fox News, Rubio had told host Sean Hannity that the Trump trial was "a quintessential show trial" during a recent interview. He also claimed that while the trials in communist Cuba "led to executions," the one involving the presumptive GOP nominee was an effort by his political rivals to influence the general election.

Ana Navarro's comments against Sen Marco Rubio

"How dare you, Marco, how dare you? Fifty-six hundred Cubans, at least, were shot in front of firing squads. Another 1,200 were shot and died because of extrajudicial hearings. How dare you use their name in vain so that you can suck up to this man," an enraged Navarro said at the Hot Topics Table, while accompanied by her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

"I know you want to be his vice president," she continued. "But don't you dare use the name of these people who died protecting freedom and compare our US judicial system to what happens in Cuba, what happens in Nicaragua, what happens in Venezuela."

Alyssa Farah Griffin claims Trump will not benefit from his conviction

Offering to provide "a little bit of hope" during the discussion, co-host Griffin said, "I have suspected in my gut that a criminal conviction does not help him win a general election and now the data is showing us that's the case."

"A Morning Consult poll found that 49% of Independents and 15% of Republicans said Trump should end his campaign because of the criminal conviction. Not just saying that they’re not supporting him. He should be out. He’s ineligible," shared the former Trump aide.

"And this models what we saw in Republican primaries where about 15% to 20% of Republicans cast protest votes against him. There is this kind of silent minority within the GOP that says they don’t want anything to do with him," she added.
