LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The View' hosts discussed Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's recent public reunion and the potential impact this could have on their children.

After months of speculation about trouble in Affleck and Lopez's paradise, the singer finally filed for divorce on August 20, 2024. However, both were seen together at the Beverly Hills Hotel on September 14.

Sunny Hostin expressed concern, stating, "I do feel it's confusing for their kids, their blended families, and perhaps they're doing this for their family, you know? And for each other. Maybe they're giving it a second try, and then maybe those divorce papers will... disappear."

Alyssa Farah Griffin added that such mixed signals could be disorienting for the children.

Affleck shares Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Griffin advised that the children should be told "you can have a relationship with whoever, regardless of if this relationship works out, stay close to the former stepparent, the former stepsiblings.”

Ana Navarro commented on the nature of their relationship, noting, "Just because a couple chooses to no longer be married, doesn't necessarily mean you don't love each other and aren't hot as hell for each other."

She supported the idea of maintaining friendly relationships within the blended family, stating, "They can get a divorce, but it doesn't mean the families need to be estranged."

Whoopi Goldberg defended the couple's decision to appear publicly together, suggesting that their actions should be seen positively.

"It is very hard when you have folks who want to go outside. It is very difficult because people like us sit around and we judge it," Goldberg said.

She emphasized that their public affection might simply reflect their efforts to support their children, despite ongoing personal challenges.
