‘The View’ hosts wear black in somber reaction to Donald Trump’s presidential election win
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' co-hosts appeared dressed in dark attire, marking their first post-election episode on Wednesday, November 6, following Donald Trump's win in the 2024 presidential election.
Co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro wore black as they sat around the round table discussing Trump’s victory.

.@JoyVBehar: "My takeaway is that the system worked. We live in a democracy. People spoke. This is what people wanted. I vehemently disagree with the decision Americans made, but I feel very, very hopeful that we have a democratic system in this country. We should value it." pic.twitter.com/BII0NDSzhB

Joy Behar joined in a black blouse beneath a navy velvet blazer, and Sara Haines wore a dark green dress during the post-election episode.
Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg stood different from the darker color scheme, appearing in a pink floral cardigan over a light-colored button-down shirt.
Goldberg, who has often been outspoken about her views on Trump, jokingly asked her co-hosts, “So what happened last night?”
'The View' panel offered a mix of reactions, from disappointment to reflection on the election outcome.
Behar openly disagreed with the election results, stating her “vehement” opposition while Haines criticized those who questioned the election's integrity.
Griffin, a former Trump staffer, who revealed on the show that she had voted for Kamala Harris, said she “always thought” Trump could pull off another victory.
“I think we forget about rural America,” Griffin explained and Hostin shared her own frustration, expressing that she was “profoundly disturbed” by Trump’s victory.
“As a woman of color, I was so hopeful that a mixed-race woman married to a Jewish guy could be elected president of this country,” she reflected.
“I think this was a referendum of cultural resentment more than policy,” Hostin added.

Ana Navarro reflects on election night at Kamala Harris' headquarters
Ana Navarro revealed that she spent Election Day at the Harris-Walz campaign headquarters in Washington, DC, and described the mood as “a very sad scene” once the results were finalized.
Despite her disappointment, she made a commitment to marginalized communities.
“I acknowledge that he won and I make a commitment to our LGBTQ, to our immigrants, to our elderly, to our young girls, to the women that we will not stop fighting," said Navarro.
Meanwhile, Goldberg who did not name Trump said, “He’s now the president. I’m still not gonna say his name, that’s not gonna change."
Donald Trump's contentious relationship with 'The View's cast
The cast of 'The View' has been vocal critics of Donald Trump throughout his 2024 campaign.
The president-elect himself has publicly mocked the show’s commentators, calling them “really dumb people” at a recent Pennsylvania rally.
He directed specific insults toward Goldberg, referring to her as “demented” and “disgusting,” even sharing a past story from his time as an employer.
“I’d never hire her again,” he told rallygoers, reminiscing about her allegedly “filthy, dirty, disgusting” language during a past job, according to The Independent.
