“I don’t think that the lack of presence should be interpreted as a lack of love and support. It’s just lack of presence,” he claimed.

The criminal trial was attended by three of Trump's children Donald Trump Jr, Tiffany Trump, and Eric Trump.

Eric's wife Lara Trump also attended court on some days, according to The Hill.

On May 30, Trump was found guilty in the hush money trial, convicting the former president on all 34 counts related to falsifying his business records to cover up the payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 elections.

Through the historic verdict, the 77-year-old businessman becomes the first former US president to face a criminal conviction.

His sentencing hearing is set for July 11.

In an interview on Sunday, June 2, Trump shared that the hush money trial and conviction has been hard on Melania, accusing the prosecutors of intentionally making the testimony particularly difficult for her.

Todd Blanche says he'll appeal Donald Trump's conviction

During the podcast interview with Markus, Blanche revealed he will appeal the hush money trial conviction.

The sit-down also highlighted the strategic collaboration between the friends Blanche and Markus, including some of the memorable lines in the defense attorney's closing arguments being suggested by the podcast host for the attack against the prosecutor's key witness Michael Cohen.

During the trial, Blanche asked the jury if they were familiar with the acronym “GOAT,” which stands for “greatest of all time,” referencing athletes like Michael Jordan and Tom Brady.

“Michael Cohen is the GLOAT. He’s literally the greatest liar of all time,” he said.

On the podcast, Markus asked Blanche if the jury reacted to the line, and "Did they like it?”

“I think they did like it, the ‘MVP of liars’ too. I was trying to personalize it more to them,” responded Blanche.
