NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Tom Brady saw a different Super Bowl this year from the other side of the field, all while wearing a shiny gold watch that left the fans scratching their heads.

The 47-year-old, one of the most successful quarterbacks in NFL history, started his rookie season as a Super Bowl announcer for Fox on Sunday, February 9, as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Instead of donning his usual uniform of jerseys and helmets, Brady wore a dark gray suit, a white shirt, and a black tie for the event. While his look remained otherwise somber for the occasion, his gold watch - presumed to be priced at a whopping $800,000- stole the spotlight.

Tom Brady's Jacob & Co gold watch becomes the talk of the town

Tom Brady, who retired from the sport after the 2022 NFL season, stepped out at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, wearing a rare Jacob & Co gold watch. The legendary quarterback chose the brand's Yellow Sapphire Caviar Tourbillon watch, which can cost about $740,000, as per E! News

Athlon Sports further reported that with tax the watch's total price comes to $800,000.

Brady’s latest outing wearing the shiny timepiece comes just a few months after he auctioned off a large section of his personal watch collection, selling 41 watches for more than $9 million.

As reported by Daily Mail, the collection was titled "The GOAT Collection," a reference to his magnificent feats as an NFL player, including seven Super Bowl rings, which often led to him being called the greatest NFL player of all time.

Brady pulled off the extravagant look just a week after his ex-wife, the Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen gave birth to her baby with her jiu-jitsu instructor boyfriend Joaquim Valente.

She also shares two children with Brady, Benjamin Rein, 15, and Vivian Lake, 11.

As the Fox analyst started his first Super Bowl as a Fox analyst of his $375 million deal, he refrained from calling his favorites ahead of the big game.

Brady shared earlier that "no one would be happier" than him if the Chiefs managed to pull off a three-peat at Super Bowl LIX, as per E! News. However, the Philadelphia Eagles ended up beating the two-time defending champions, 40-22.

He added in a conference call with USA Today on Wednesday, "I love Patrick as a player, as a person. Since he came onto the scene, I couldn’t think any more highly of a player in that position, knowing all that he’s going through, gone through, and will continue to go through to try to accomplish things at the highest level."

Internet believes Tom Brady's glitzy watch proves 'how rich he is'

While the Super Bowl LIX was not short of astounding moments, Tom Brady's watch commanded a separate fanbase of its own. However, not everyone was impressed with the watch as a section of fans also declared it to be "ugly."

One quipped, "It’s glowing like the suitcase on pulp fiction," and another said, "Just a reminder of how rich he is."

"BREAKING: Tom Brady has money," someone else quipped, referring to the watch's high price tag.

"If he’s smart, they paid him to wear it 🤣 Jco watches go wild, but I can’t imagine trying to offload that. I’d be mind blown if he found an offer for 400-450k for it. Insanely iced tho. Yowza, Tommy!" a fan wrote.

"Dude’s got ton of money," declared a person, with another offering, "He likely got paid to wear it. Brand promotion."

"So ugly it's cool," joked one more, while an individual quipped, "I didn’t know rookie broadcasters made such good money."
