Tom Cruise mocked over 'cooky' way of eating popcorn at movie screening: 'Eating it like middle-aged dad'

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Tom Cruise is a man of style who never fails to add his own touch to everything he does - be it flying an airplane or jumping off a cliff.
But, surprisingly, the ‘Top Gun’ star lost some serious aura points after he was filmed eating popcorn in a very peculiar manner at a special screening for ‘Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’.

Tom Cruise’s unique way of munching popcorn
The Hollywood hunk has lately been busy promoting the eighth and probably last 'Mission: Impossible' installment, 'The Final Reckoning'.
But his audience has been more fixated on his popcorn-eating abilities than on hearing about the flick.
The saga began after a video went viral showing Cruise chomping down his movie snack as he’s being introduced to take the stage at what appeared to be the BFI IMAX in London during an event earlier this month, according to the NY Post.

Wearing a dark-colored suit with an unbuttoned dress shirt and no tie, the actor appeared laid back and unbothered as he picked individual morsels with his left hand and impressively threw them back into his mouth one at a time.
Cruise appeared to enjoy the popcorn as much as the rest of us, with the actor indulging in his bag four times during the 14-second clip shared on social media.

His love for popcorn didn’t end here, as another video showed him calling out a fan for eating all his popcorn at the premiere of his latest flick.
The video, which was shot from behind the actor, showed Cruise walking into a packed movie theater before stopping as he passed a patron in the front row.
"You ate all your popcorn already?" he is heard telling the cinema-goer, with the camera panning to show his near-empty popcorn bucket.

Internet cringes over Tom Cruise’s popcorn eating habit
As the video went viral, showing Tom Cruise shoving the kernels down his throat and occasionally missing his mouth, many ridiculed him over the eating habit.
“He’s eating it like any other middle-aged dad!!” one user joked under an Instagram post, while the second user said, “The dad shake and throw in the mouth. This is peak male performance.”
“That’s how my grandpa used to eat roasted peanuts lol,” added one user, while someone else responded, “Hahaha exactly my grandpa always eats snacks this way.”
“Something tells me this guy might be a bit cooky,” a third user tweeted.
“This is the 70s eater bit that nick kroll did on conan obrien. Hes eating like a character from a martin scorsese movie from the 1970s,” the fourth user noted.
“He looks like he's miming the process of eating popcorn in an exaggerated manner,” the fifth user pointed out. “Is Tom Cruise the most successful and well masking autistic person of all time?” the sixth user questioned.
“Is this man trying to aura farm eating popcorn???” another user wrote. “He wants to just shove a handful in his mouth, but doesn’t want to look like a slob in public, so he just machine gun individual pieces. Legendary move,” one more user joked.
