LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Once Angelina Jolie wraps up her final legal battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt, she plans to start a new chapter of her life in Cambodia, claimed sources.

Seeking to escape the toxic environment in Los Angeles, which has left her traumatized throughout the divorce proceedings, Jolie is ready to leave the US behind. Insider reports also shed light on her exciting plans for a fresh life in the French capital.

For the unversed, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after two years of marriage. While the couple reached a divorce settlement on December 31, 2024, ongoing legal disputes over custody, finances, and their French estate and vineyard Chateau Miraval, remain unresolved.

A source revealed to RadarOnline that Angelina Jolie is eagerly awaiting the conclusion of her legal battle with Brad Pitt, after which she plans to leave Los Angeles and begin life anew.

The source shared that Jolie is frustrated with the prolonged proceedings, saying, "Angelina hates the fact it’s gone on this long and can’t wait to put it all behind her." 

She is reportedly eager to move on, particularly to escape LA, the source reported, "Not least so she can move overseas and get away from LA, a city she has very little time for these days, as she’s openly admitted."

The source also shed light on the toll the divorce has taken on Jolie, explaining, "She wants to wash the toxicity of the place out of her hair. The whole divorce experience has left her traumatized."

The insider detailed her new future: "She will set up home in Europe and Cambodia and divide her time between the two locations."

Jolie has several new projects in the works and will continue filming her next movie, ‘Stitches’, a drama set during Paris Fashion Week, meaning more time in the French capital.

The insider added, "Angelina has a lot of friends in the city, including Salma Hayek."

The source concluded, "Paris is high on the list of places to relocate once her legal issues are settled. She longs to start afresh. The stress and heartache have gone on for what seems like a lifetime."

The legal conflict between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt intensified after Jolie received $55 million from selling her stake in Chateau Miraval to Russian billionaire Yuri Sheffler. 

While their divorce settlement has been resolved, the battle over the vineyard remains unresolved. At the heart of the dispute is whether Jolie had the legal authority to sell her shares in the estate.

Cambodia has played a significant role in Angelina Jolie's life, beginning with her visit in 2000 while filming ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’.

The film became a global success and is recognized as the first international production to showcase the Angkor Wat Temple to a Western audience on the big screen.

In 2002, Jolie adopted a young Cambodian boy named Maddox.

Reflecting on the adoption, she shared, "It’s strange, I never wanted to have a baby. I never wanted to be pregnant. I never babysat. I never thought of myself as a mother. It was suddenly very clear to me that my son was in the country, somewhere."

Jolie also spoke about how her perspective changed after her visit to Cambodia. "When I first came to Cambodia, it changed me. It changed my perspective. I realized there was so much about history that I had not been taught in school, and so much about life that I needed to understand, and I was very humbled by it," she said.
