Travis Kelce admits he's still haunted by dreadful Super Bowl 2025 loss: ‘I wasn’t at my best'

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS: Travis Kelce is still disappointed by his performance in Super Bowl 2025.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who struggled with the team's 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, has been rewatching film from the game to analyze his mistakes.
During the latest episode of the 'New Heights' podcast, Kelce admitted that the loss left a lasting impact on him and played a role in his decision to return for another NFL season.
Travis Kelce says his team needs more 'effort and focus' from him
Travis Kelce, 35, said he forced himself to overanalyze the game and was dumbfounded by his own performance.
"I just don’t know what it was during that game, man. I wasn’t at my best. The more that I see clips or watch the film or put myself back in those moments, man, I’m just like, 'What the f**k?'" Travis said.

His brother and co-host Jason Kelce then told him not to dwell too much on the loss. However, the Chiefs' tight end said that was just how he found motivation.
"You have to overanalyze. That’s the way I find motivation," Travis said, adding "That’s how I create the beast, that’s how I flip the switch," New York Post reported.
Travis Kelce still feels he can play at a 'high level'
Travis Kelce now believes he has more to give, even though he had earlier sparked retirement rumors.
"I think the biggest thing is that I f*****g love playing the game of football," Travis said.
"I still feel like I can play at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don’t think [Super Bowl 2025] was my best outing," he admitted.

"I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I’ve been in years past," he added.
He also reflected on how the season ended and how much he values his team and the city. "I want to give it a good run," he added.
Travis said, "I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility and in the community and it’s home for me. I don’t want to leave that life yet."
Travis Kelce is 'back at it for at least one more year'
Travis Kelce's contract with the Chiefs runs through the 2025 season, with an $11.5 million roster bonus set for March 15.
Despite the tough ending to last season, he remains committed to giving his best effort for the team.
"Last year, it didn’t end well for us and I feel like there is a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything I’ve got and that’s what I’m gonna do, man," Travis said.

He also made it clear that his future beyond 2025 remains uncertain but is focused on the present.
"Kansas City, baby, we’re back at it for at least one more year," Travis said.
He didnt clear if this was going to be his last year, but said, "I still love a lot of what I do for the city and the Chiefs organization."
"I know I got one on my contract and I’m gonna give you guys everything I got, baby," he said.
