Travis Kelce endorsement could help Harris more than Taylor Swift's in winning 'low-information voters'
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Taylor Swift has finally broken her silence and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. The jury on the impact of celebrity endorsements in moving votes in a candidate's favor is still out
Nevertheless, the 'Bad Blood' singer has a fanbase labeled Swifties - a massive group, prominently women.
This panicked conservative pundits earlier this year when speculations suggested the pop star would announce her endorsement live at the Super Bowl LVIII when her boyfriend Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious against the San Francisco 49ers.
Now Swift's plans for the November election are out in the open, and it gives way to another thought: How could Kelce impact the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and Harris?

Travis Kelce and 'low-information voters'
An anonymous insider revealed that the Chiefs' tight end would "very soon" follow his girlfriend's path and endorse Harris, according to The Daily Beast.
"After Taylor revealed her endorsement for Kamala, Travis knew what he had to do. He understood the assignment," the source said.
It is no secret that bad blood existed between Trump and Swift, and her Instagram post declaring her support for the Democratic vice president was not a shock.
Besides citing the fake AI image of her endorsing Trump as a reason to reveal her voting plans, she also urged voters, especially first timers, to register and vote early. When she made the same call in 2023 on National Voter Registration day 35, 000 voter registrations were recorded.
However, when delving into Kelce's influence, it is important to note what kind of audience he has.
The NFL player's 'New Heights' podcast holds a number three position on the podcast charts of Spotify sports. His listeners mostly come from the "low-information voters" group, according to The Daily Beast's Alex Thomas.
These people mostly gather news not from major news broadcasters or outlets but instead listen to Pat McAfee or read blogs like Barstool.
They hardly tune into the chaotic US political system, but upon listening to Jordan Peterson or Trump, they conclude that the modern world is arranged to be against them.
However, the culture wars have managed to break into such people against their wishes, as made clear in the 'New Heights subreddit' where the primary rule is "no political posts."
How could Travis Kelce help turn narrative ahead of November election?
Chances of a Kelce endorsement turning into votes are nevertheless grim. For instance, a self-proclaimed Swiftie recently wrote in The New York Times that many hope celebrities "through their sheer persuasive charisma, will save us from the hard work of politics itself."
However, Kelce and Swift, being the it-couple of the football and election season, could play some role in shifting the voters.
One possible way is for the couple to embark on a mini Eras tour in swing states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and North Carolina. Through such an occasion, the NFL legend could kill the crazy notions of declining manhood.
In this way, Kelce could join Swift in pushing against the conservative worldview that restricts women's existence to being just child-bearers. Through that, the Chiefs' player could quash the paranoia among the "low-information voters," mainly consisting of young men, and there is no one out there to get them.
