NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift’s fans are familiar with her beloved cats—Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.

Now, social media is abuzz with speculation that one of them made an unexpected cameo on the August 28 episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s 'New Heights' podcast.

Swifties speculate that Taylor Swift’s cat made surprise cameo on Travis Kelce’s podcast

A Swiftie posted a clip of the mysterious sound on X, captioning it, "Not the 'MEOW' in the background. Travis letting one of the cats make its podcast debut."

In the clip, a distinct “meow” interrupted the conversation just as Jason Kelce, co-host of the podcast and Travis’s brother, was mid-sentence.

When some speculated that the sound might have come from Jason and Kylie Kelce’s three daughters—Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1—the fan quickly clarified.

“For those suggesting it could be Jason’s kids… they were not in the house,” a fan clarified, supporting her claim with video evidence of Jason, 36, confirming this at the end of the episode.

She also noted that Kylie has mentioned before that they sometimes leave the house to allow Jason to record the podcast.

Taylor Swfit's famous cats have celebrity names

It all began in 2011 with her first famous cat, a Scottish Fold named Meredith Grey, inspired by the lead character from Grey’s Anatomy.

Swift continued her tradition of TV-inspired names in 2014 with her second Scottish Fold, Olivia Benson, named after Mariska Hargitay's beloved character on 'Law & Order: SVU.'

The trio was completed in 2019 with Benjamin Button, a Ragdoll cat named after the fictional character portrayed by Brad Pitt in the film of the same name.

Taylor Swift 'obsessed' with her three cats

Taylor Swift has always embraced her love for her cats, making them an integral part of her personality — much to the delight of her fans.

All three felines have frequently appeared on her social media and even starred in a few of her music videos, including 'Blank Space' (2014), 'Me!' (2019), and 'Karma' (2023).

The Grammy winner has also admitted that her beloved cats have even influenced some of her career choices, People reported.

In a 2019 interview with TIME, she shared, "I have cats. I'm obsessed with them. I love my cats so much that when a role came up in a movie called Cats I just thought, like, I gotta do this."

Swift took her commitment seriously, even attending a “cat school” on set to fully prepare for her feline-inspired role.

The 'Midnights' singer has never hidden her love for cats, and over the years, she’s shared exactly why they’ve captured her heart.

As she told TIME, “They're very dignified. They're independent. They're very capable of dealing with their own life."

In 2020, her furry companions took the spotlight again in her holiday card, dressed in adorable winter attire against a black-and-white background that mirrored the aesthetic of her 'folklore' album.

When Swift graced the cover of TIME magazine again in December 2023, she posed with her cat Benjamin Button and opened up about her relationship with Travis Kelce for the first time, as per Page Six.

“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew [we were together], which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other,” the singer revealed.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce had previously discussed their romance on his 'New Heights' podcast multiple times — and he brought it up again in the latest episode.

Swifties try hard to decode the background 'meow'

Curiosity ran wild among viewers as they tried to unravel the mystery unfolding in the podcast's background. Some speculated it was a cat or Jason Kelce's kids, while others remained uncertain.

One viewer expressed, "It can be, i hear a cat but i guess we’ll never know for sure." [sic]

Another viewer shared, "I can’t hear if this is a kid or a cat… yes Jason said at the end Kylie took the kids out but don’t they record a couple of hours.. so the girls might have been at home at the start… Anyway, if it’s a cat, do we all think it’s Benji?"

One viewer pointed out, "I just want one of the cats to jump in front of the camera one day and be there." A follower observed, "It’s gotta be Meredith."

One comment stated, "Awww....Travs a cat dad now. I love it." [sic]

Another comment read, "Now I’m wondering if it’s Benjamin, Olivia, or Meredith!"

"Benji is like hey dad I wanna be on the podcast with you and uncle Jason," explained an individual. [sic]
