Travis Kelce describes experience of playing at Super Bowl and performing at Taylor Swift’s gig
Travis Kelce, one of the most successful tight ends in NFL history, donned a different hat when he appeared on stage at Wembley during one of Swift’s sold-out London gigs on June 23, 2024.
While he became fairly a constant presence at the ‘Lover’ singer’s Eras Tour during his off-season, the Wembley concert was a special case as he took to the stage to share the spotlight with her artist girlfriend.

Appearing on Westwood One Sports ahead of the Super Bowl Kelce reflected on his experience, sharing, “I've been on a few stages in my life, that one was definitely the most shocking. I felt like an ant in a whole new world," per Daily Mail.

“That stadium, the lights, and how they went insane,” continued the NFL athlete, while drawing the similarities.
He continued, “The whole time, I'm thinking, 'Oh snap, I have a job to do. I gotta lock in and I gotta make this fun. I gotta make this entertaining.'”
Kelce added, “Tay gave me the opportunity to go up there and have some fun,” before noting, “We're gonna show her how much fun we can really have up there. Sure enough, the crowd was off their rocker. It was insane in there for a while and a memory I'll never forget for sure.”
As he was asked whether he found any similarity between performing on stage with playing at the Super Bowl, Kelce responded in the affirmative. “I feel like there's similarities,” noted the athlete.

Reflecting on his experience, he shared, “I was up there my guy Cam and Jan, and, obviously, Taylor,” before adding that similar to a football game, it appeared like teamwork.
“There was that team aspect that 'alright, we're here together, I'm not all here by myself',” highlighted Kelce. “There was that team feeling," he added.
He continued, “There was some comradery and some chemistry up there but for the most part, the biggest difference is that I'm in a football uniform and a helmet. I got a completely different game plan than just going out there and having fun.”

Kelce is now gearing up to create history as his team is appearing for their third consecutive Super Bowl. If the Chiefs manage to win their match against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, they will become the first NFL team to attend the feat of securing a hat-trick.
Travis Kelce says he 'didn't disappoint' GF Taylor Swift with his Eras Tour gig
Travis Kelce previously opened up about his experience of sharing the stage with his girlfriend Taylor Swift during an episode of his 'New Heights' podcast. He shared that he was the mastermind behind the plan, as reported by Variety.
Speaking to his brother Jason Kelce, the Chiefs star said, “I initially mentioned it to Tay,” before adding, “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 era'.”
As Swift asked whether he was serious about the plan, Travis apparently responded, “What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough — might as well put me to work here.”

The athlete said that Swift “found the perfect part of the show for me to come in” as he called it an “honor” to stand beside a “true showman” like her.
“When everyone [in the crowd] found out that it was me — because it took a second for everyone to figure it out — that moment was pretty jarring,” noted the star.
He added, “I was just like, ‘Oh s**t.’ And you don’t realize how big that damn stage is. It is easily as big as a football stadium … it’s way bigger than I could have ever imagined."
“It was an absolute blast," he recounted.
“It was such a fun, playful part of the show, and it was like … the perfect time for me to go up there, just be a ham and have some fun — not only with [Swift] … but the crowd and really try and get everybody excited for the rest of the show. It was awesome," reflected Travis, before adding, “I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters."
