NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: As Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl 2025 at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, February 9, he wasn’t lacking support from his close ones.

The 35-year-old star tight end, who had a strong support system in his girlfriend Taylor Swift, and her friends and family, hosted them at one of the VIP boxes of the New Orleans stadium. As expected, these suites do not come cheap, and Travis even joked that he was just "losing" money by renting these boxes, as reported by Cheatsheet.

Just a few days before the Super Bowl LIX, which the Chiefs eventually lost to the Eagles, the NFL star opened up about the money he had to spend to ensure a pleasant watching experience for his superstar girlfriend, also 35.

Travis Kelce joked he was losing a lot of money to host friends and family at Super Bowl LIX

Just a few days before the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce sat for a fun-filled conversation with his elder brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce about his preparations for the NFL's biggest clash of the year.

When asked by his brother what he was doing, the Chiefs tight end joked, "I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come."

He continued, "Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money," as reported by Page Six

While he did not divulge the amount he had to spend to secure the boxes at the Superdome, he hinted at the sum during one of the episodes of Netflix’s 'Receiver'.

As Swift’s beau chatted with San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who stars in the reality series, he revealed the eyewatering cost.

When the 49ers player talked about his family members watching the Super Bowl from the stands, Kelce said, "They're f**king $3 million," hinting at the price he had to pay for securing the box last year.

Presumably, Kelce had to pay almost the same amount of money to host Swift and her friends at the VIP box.

The 'Lover' singer cheered on her beau this year with a host of friends, including Ice Spice, Ashley Avignone, Alana Haim, and Este Haim.

Last year, she watched the Chiefs defeat the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII from the VIP box while being surrounded by friends like Blake Lively and Miles Teller.

Taylor Swift did not want to be the center of attention at the Super Bowl

The news of Travis Kelce spending a hefty sum to secure the luxury boxes came after insiders revealed that Taylor Swift did not want to divert attention from his game.

A source previously claimed to The US Sun, "Taylor doesn’t want to be the center of attention. She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game."

Nevertheless, she ended up gaining attention, but not in the way she was used to. As the match progressed, the 'Bad Blood' singer appeared on the stadium's jumbotron, only to be jeered by the crowd.

Donald Trump, who made history by becoming the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, didn't miss the opportunity to take a dig at Swift.

On Truth Social, he wrote, "The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"
