LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Troy Aikman, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback-turned-ESPN analyst, sparked concern among NFL fans following his appearance on the 'Monday Night Football' broadcast of the Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings game on December 16.

Viewers quickly noticed that Aikman's eyes appeared bloodshot, leading to widespread concerns about his health.

Despite the focus on his appearance, Troy Aikman’s commentary during the game did not seem to deviate from his usual style. He continued to provide insightful analysis and commentary throughout the game.

However, a brief and humorous moment occurred during the broadcast when Aikman made a mistake while using the telestrator, trying to highlight Minnesota Vikings player Josh Metellus, but mistakenly pointing to the wrong location on the field.

"Well, they’re going to bring Metellus, in the middle. Wherever he is, right?" the former NFL star commented during the broadcast of the Vikings' 30-12 victory, according to the New York Post.

Kirk Herbstreit also misidentified 49ers star Trent Williams while he was on the sideline during the 'Thursday Night Football' broadcast on Prime Video.

It’s unclear if there was a specific reason behind Aikman’s appearance, as neither he nor ESPN has made an official statement addressing the speculation.

Troy Aikman's bloodshot eyes spark widespread concern on social media

Troy Aikman's bloodshot eyes became the dominant topic of conversation among NFL fans on social media.

One said, "Ouch! The redness in the eyes of @TroyAikman looks very uncomfy!!" and another wrote, "I hope Troy doesn't have a hidden health problem like the viewers noticed with Randy Moss!!!" 

"Hopefully, it's nothing serious. It's always concerning when something like this happens, but we can only hope he's doing okay," remarked a person, while someone else wrote, "Two things one has severe eye irritation, too he’s not getting enough sleep."
