CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina dealt a significant blow to Nikki Haley by endorsing former President Donald Trump during his rally in Concord on Friday, January 19 before the New Hampshire primary next week.

Addressing an enthusiastic MAGA crowd in attendance, Scott hyped them up by asking, "Is this Trump Country?"

Per a report by ABC News, Sen. Scott proceeded to highlight Trump's accomplishments in immigration, social security, and the fight against crime during his term at the White House.

Scott eventually declared his endorsement of the former President stating, "That's why I came to the very warm state of New Hampshire to endorse the next president of the United States, Donald Trump. We need a president who can unite our country, We need Donald Trump."

Why did Sen. Tim Scott decide to endorse Donald Trump over Nikki Haley?

The political arena is not the place for allegiances or handing out favors, and that couldn’t be any truer going by Friday’s turn of events where South Carolina Senator Tim Scott decided to endorse the 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump.

Nikki Haley, the other GOP presidential candidate was instrumental in appointing Tim Scott to the Senate in 2012, during her term as the South Carolina Governor from 2011 to 2017.

Scott, who entered the Republican presidential race last year and has since pledged not to run for reelection in the Senate, revealed on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’ in December, that his endorsement "certainly won't happen this year, if I do it at all."

Donald Trump expressed his gratitude towards Scott, lauding him as a "very good man" and a "very respected man", while also criticizing other Republican leaders for squandering hundreds of millions of dollars on attacking his presidential campaign.

He specifically targeted Haley, alleging that she had formed an "unholy alliance" with "RINOs" and "never-Trumpers."

Senator Scott’s endorsement arrived just days before the January 23 New Hampshire primary.

During his presidential campaign, Scott was dogged by rumors that he was competing to be Trump's running mate.

However, the South Carolina senator dismissed the rumors, stating that he did not run for president to be in second place.

Haley fired back by using Trump's own remarks to condemn Scott's backing.

The former South Carolina governor said in a statement, "Interesting that Trump's lining up with all the Washington insiders when he claimed he wanted to drain the swamp.”

Adding a backhanded remark, she said, “But the fellas are gonna do what the fellas are gonna do."

Internet shreds Sen Tim Scott for being a sellout

People on X showed no remorse in launching a scathing attack on the Republican senator from South Carolina for endorsing former President Donald Trump.

One X user remarked, "Truly disgusting! Every one of these endorsements is a breach of the Oath of Office."

Another user said, "This one's gotta hurt! Sen. Tim Scott is only in the Senate because Nikki Haley appointed him to the seat back in 2013. So, not only does he run against her for President, but then he endorses her chief rival, Donald Trump. If you want a loyal friend in politics, get a dog!"

Another user wrote, "Imagine supporting a man that is full blown racist. Wouldn’t rent to blks, called them lazy, didn’t want them counting his money , had blk casino dealers pulled off the floor when he showed up and wanted 5 poc innocent teens put to death"

One user quipped, "Here you have it. Delusional and dumb. They are interchangeable."

Another X user remarked, "He should be so ashamed of himself"

One user tweeted, "I understand that the voter who committed to vote for Scott is quite upset about this."
