Trump calls for criminal charges against George Soros and son over 'great damage' to country

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has called for philanthropist George Soros and his son to face federal racketeering charges.
He made the allegation in a social media post but did not provide evidence to back his claims.
George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much…

Donald Trump accuses George Soros of fueling protests
The comments come as the White House pursues actions against some of Trump’s critics, raising concerns over whether law enforcement is being misused for political purposes.
“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” Trump wrote in his Truth Social post.
“We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE,” he added.

Trump also warned the 95-year-old Soros in another post: “Be careful, we’re watching you!” He accused Soros and his associates of doing “great damage” to the country, stating, “That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends.”
White House critics targeted as FBI and DOJ actions grow
Earlier this month, FBI agents searched the home of John Bolton, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser.
Around the same time, a top housing official accused Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook of mortgage fraud, leading Trump to attempt to fire her. Cook has said she intends to sue to keep her job.

Politico reported that when asked about Trump’s threats against Soros, Department of Justice spokesperson Natalie Baldassarre referred only to a section of the DOJ manual on “disclosure of information concerning ongoing criminal, civil, or administrative investigations.”

Soros has often been the target of Trump and his supporters due to his history of funding Democratic and liberal causes. During Trump’s first term, Soros said, “Trump would like to establish a mafia state.”
Former President Joe Biden honored Soros with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, before leaving the White House in January.
Elon Musk and Internet users weigh in on Donald Trump’s remarks
Elon Musk also joined the conversation, posting on X: “High time action was taken against Soros directly.”
Many social media users debated Trump’s call for charges. “When do people actually start getting arrested? Is it all still sitting on Pam Bondi’s desk? How big can her desk possibly be???” one X user wrote.

Others warned of troubling implications. “These are the actions of a dictator,” one user commented.
Another added, “This is gonna be a pretty loose interpretation of freedom. In fact, in 12 months time, there will be little of that remaining.”
