Earlier, greeting Americans on the holy weekend, Trump reiterated that one must have God and religion to become a great nation.

“To be a great nation, you must have religion, and you must have God.

“In churches across the nation on Sunday, the pews will be fuller, younger, and more faithful than they have at any time in many, many years.”

He further wished God’s blessing for people and the country, stating, “Happy Easter to all, may God bless you, may God bless the United States of America."

While Trump wished well for America during the Easter weekend, tensions remained high globally as the United States continued its military conflict with Iran, with no ceasefire appearing imminent.

Trump warns Iran of ‘hell’ if Strait of Hormuz is not reopened

Trump warned Iran of a potential escalation in the ongoing conflict, threatening Tehran with “hell” and giving it until Tuesday to reach a deal on a ceasefire.

Trump’s warning came after a dramatic US military rescue of a downed American airman in Iran. The weapons systems officer (WSO) was rescued early on Sunday, April 5, after an F-15E fighter jet was shot down by Iran on April 3.

Following the rescue operation, Trump posted a fiery message on Truth Social warning Iran over the escalating Strait of Hormuz crisis.

Trump said Iran would be living in “hell” if it did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, setting Tuesday as the deadline.

"Open the F***ing Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH!" he wrote.

Trump praises US military for ‘daring’ rescue of downed airman

Earlier, Trump praised the US military for carrying out what he described as a high-risk rescue mission to recover the downed airman.

He called the operation “one of the most daring search and rescue operations in US history.”

“This brave warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour, but was never truly alone because his commander in chief, secretary of war, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, and fellow warfighters were monitoring his location 24 hours a day, and diligently planning for his rescue,” Trump added in a post on Truth Social.
