MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump — or at least someone with access to his Truth Social account — is back in the spotlight for spreading another false endorsement.

After previously sharing a fake claim that pop sensation Taylor Swift had backed his campaign, the former president and GOP nominee has now targeted JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

JPMorgan Chase boss Jamie Dimon reacts to Donald Trump's claims

Donald Trump’s account posted a message on Friday, October 4, stating, "New: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has endorsed Trump for President", without adding any commentary or giving credit.

However, this turned out false. The biillionaire had earlier supported GOP primary contender Nikki Haley.

After multiple media figures circulated the claim, Dimon responded through a spokesperson, reiterating his decision not to endorse either Trump or Harris this election cycle, referencing comments he made last month.

"I'm not endorsing anyone at this time. I spend more of my time on policy. What's the policy we need that can really help both the world, foreign policy, and domestically?" he said, according to Daily Mail.

“Jamie Dimon has not endorsed anyone. He has not endorsed a candidate," his spokesperson, Joe Evangelisti, told CNBC during a phone call.

Evangelisti made it clear that the JPMorgan boss has not publicly supported any candidate for the 2024 election, rendering Trump's post entirely baseless.

Despite this, conservative figures like Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk helped fuel the fire, amplifying the claim online. Kirk’s post has since been removed, but Trump’s message remains visible to his Truth Social followers.

Jamie Dimon urges next president to 'restore our faith in America'

In a rare move, the usually Democratic-leaning Wall Street bank CEO Jamie Dimon called for the next president to "restore our faith in America" in a Washington Post column, per the outlet, urging the next administration to incorporate leaders from both political parties.

Dimon outlined his vision for unifying the nation after a divisive election, stating that the next president must "restore faith in America." He emphasized, "Deeply divided, our nation now faces both challenging domestic issues and perhaps the most complicated geopolitical situation since World War II."

"We may be at an inflection point that will determine the fate of the free and democratic world for decades."

He also suggested that the next president should include political adversaries and private-sector leaders in the administration.

Jamie Dimon stays neutral in 2024 race

Further, Jamie Dimon, who has focused on policy rather than political endorsements, reportedly had lunch with Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris earlier this year. He found her reasonable and open to collaboration between government and businesses, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Subsequently, billionaires such as Elon Musk and Bill Ackman have backed Trump. Pop icon Taylor Swift notably endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and 'Shark Tank' billionaire Mark Cuban has also thrown his support behind the vice president in the upcoming November elections.
