WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump floated a conspiracy theory regarding President Joe Biden's Covid-19 diagnosis following his historic withdrawal from the 2024 race.

The Republican presumptive nominee baselessly claimed his 81-year-old successor never had Covid after Biden tested positive last week. Since then, the president has been in self-isolation at his Delaware residence and has not made a public appearance.

On July 21, the 46th president announced his decision to step down from the 2024 re-election bid after mounting pressure from Democratic elected officials and donors. Moments later, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic ticket.

Trump went into a Truth Social tirade labeling his successor as "the worst president in the history of our country," soon after Biden exited the 2024 race.

"Does anybody really believe that Crooked Joe had Covid?" the MAGA spearhead asked in one of the posts. He further baselessly substantiated that the diagnosis was aimed to set the stage for Biden's exit from the presidential race after last month's disastrous debate.

"No, he wanted to get out ever since June 27th, the night of The Debate, where he was completely obliterated," he wrote. "That was the big moment in Joe Biden's demise. That was the point in time when Joe was revealed for what he is, an incompetent man who should never have been President. Joe Biden is not fit to serve - He is destroying our Country!"

Many of Biden's White House and campaign staffers were blindsided by his decision to drop out of the race. According to reports, they learned about it through tweets.

Since announcing the biggest news of his decades-long political career, the octogenarian's public absence prompted "Where is Joe Biden" trends on social media.

However, on Monday, July 22, he gave a live address via phone call to a group of staff at the campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. Admitting the news of his exit was "surprising," the president said, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to be out there in the campaign with her, with Kamala."

Internet slams Trump over his conspiracy theory on Biden's Covid-19 diagnosis

Netizens hit Trump with criticisms for claiming Biden was faking his Covid-19 diagnosis. Many urged him to stop attacking the POTUS, reminding him he was now a former opponent.

"He should chill out a bit and stop beating a dead horse," a user said.

"You’re not running against him any more. Is it beyond your sniveling character to honor Biden (even if you don’t mean it) and give some honor to your former opponent? You are a weak, narcissistic, and petty little man," another remarked.

"Trump still hasn't learned not to stick his foot in his mouth," added a third user.

"Yup, this looks like the writings of a man who had his 'come to Jesus moment' after a bullet grazed his ear. Back to the same old garbage human being that he’s always been," read a fourth response.

Oh, man. Are you trying to elect Harris now? Why would you post something like this? Were you hacked? I guess the sensible, likable Trump didn't last long at all. The notion of a Harris presidency is not a happy one, but this kind of garbage will make it happen," another person wrote.

"Trump is still attacking Biden? Why? To look like the bully he is? Because his feeble mind can't change gears? C'mon man, show some class for a change," an individual opined.

"I think it hasn't sunk in yet that he's not running against President Biden. Trump's impaired cognitive state is real. Sad," someone else added.

"Oh he’s been posting this kinda shit nonstop since the announcement…he’s spiraling… they don’t have a plan for her at all," another user chimed in.
