Trump rings in New Year at Mar-a-Lago with call for 'peace on Earth'
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: President Donald Trump called for 'peace on Earth' while ringing in the New Year at his Mar-a-Lago resort on New Year's Eve event.
Trump, who attended the New Year’s Eve bash with First Lady Melania Trump, briefly spoke to reporters outside the event as guests gathered for the celebration.
Trump was dressed in a tuxedo, while Melania wore a silver gown as they posed for photos and greeted attendees ahead of the festivities.
Trup's optimistic tone on peace and power
While speaking to reporters, Trump said he hoped for 'peace on Earth' in the coming year.
He also commented on the country’s strength, saying, “We’re back. We’re strong,” before heading inside to continue the celebrations.
President Donald Trump sharply criticized what he described as widespread fraud involving Somali-linked networks, claiming the problem is particularly severe in states such as California, Illinois, and New York.
Trump alleged that as much as $18 billion had been stolen, adding that authorities are only beginning to uncover the full scope of the issue.
“California is worse. Illinois is worse. New York is worse,” Trump said, vowing that his administration would work to recover the funds.
“We’re going to get that money back”, said Trump.

New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago
The Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve party drew hundreds of guests, including political allies and supporters. The event featured live entertainment, music and a festive atmosphere as attendees counted down to midnight at the Palm Beach resort.

Trump had indicated earlier in the week that Netanyahu would be among the guests at the event.

Trump was seen interacting with guests and taking photos throughout the evening. The New Year’s Eve event capped off a holiday season at Mar-a-Lago that included several high-profile gatherings and public appearances by the president.
Mar-a-Lago resort: a Trump stronghold
Long before Trump’s election, the annual bash was already a staple of Palm Beach’s social calendar, drawing high-profile guests such as Tiger Woods, Martha Stewart, Serena Williams, Rod Stewart, Regis Philbin, Steve Wynn, and Sylvester Stallone, along with many members of Trump’s extended family including Eric and Lara Trump.
Since Trump assumed office, however, the event has taken on even greater prominence, evolving into a red-carpet-style gala that attracts national attention.
