WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump criticized members of Congress who voted to release information about Jeffrey Epstein, calling their actions a waste of time on Friday, November 14.

Earlier on Truth Social, the commander in chief called the Republicans who supported the release "foolish".

Trump explains why he urged GOP leaders not to release Epstein files

President Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One about Republican members who joined Democrats in signing a petition to release emails involving Jeffrey Epstein.

To provide context, four House Republicans supported the release, including Reps Thomas Massie (R-KY) Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Nancy Mace (R-SC), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO). Trump reportedly called Mace and Boebert to pressure them into withdrawing their support.

When a reporter asked why the commander in chief intervened, Trump replied, “Because we think it’s bad to talk about it.”

He explained, "Because it gets away from the subject of how well Republicans are doing. We have the greatest economy. We have the largest investment ever made in our country’s history. We have all of these great things happen.”

He said. “We have very little inflation whereas he [former President Joe Biden] had record setting, the biggest inflation in history. All of these things are good, and when you talk about the Epstein hoax what happens is you’re not talking about how well we’ve done.”

Trump added that some Republicans back the release simply to “waste people’s time” and referred to them as “some of the dumber Republicans.”

"That’s the whole purpose behind that. They want to waste people’s time and some of the dumber Republicans like that."

He quickly clarified that most of the push comes from "Democrats."

Trump declares 'Epstein is Democrats' problem'

President Donald Trump accused Republicans concerned about Jeffrey Epstein of playing into the Democrats’ game.

On Friday, November 14, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Democrats are using the “Epstein Hoax” to distract from their policy failures and internal chaos.

“The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses especially the shutdown embarrassment where their party is in total disarray and has no idea what to do,” he wrote.

This week, thousands of new Epstein-related documents became public, including letters in which Epstein mentioned Trump by name. The president faced no accusations of wrongdoing, and the White House said Democrats were trying to “embarrass” Trump, a former Epstein associate.

Trump called the Republicans who supported releasing the files “weak” and said they should not concern themselves with Epstein. “Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish,” he wrote.

He declared, “Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem! " The president urged, "Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Sommers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to run!”
