WASHINGTON, DC: An unidentified witness, who is purportedly a Donald Trump adviser, scanned the contents of a box containing classified documents and saved the digital files to her laptop. The laptop is owned by a political action committee that covers Trump's legal bills, as per Raw Story.

Politico's Kyle Cheney first reported the startling revelation, which was buried in a footnote of an 87-page court document that US District Judge Beryl Howell unveiled on Tuesday, May 21, in response to another filing in which Trump's attorneys are alleging prosecutorial misconduct.

The paper stated that even after FBI investigators carried out and finished a search warrant many months before, in August of 2022, at least four more classified documents had been discovered in Donald Trump's bedroom at his Mar-a-Lago home and resort.

Politico reported that as per Judge Howell, "Noted that [a] Trump adviser connected to his Save America PAC had acknowledged scanning the contents of the box that contained the classified materials in 2021 and storing them on a personal laptop provided by the PAC."

Judge Howell wrote in the footnote, "on January 6, 2023, the former president’s counsel informed the government that, in 2021, WITNESS scanned the contents of the box—produced on January 5, 2023, and previously containing classified documents—onto a laptop in her possession owned by the Save America Political Action Committee (‘PAC’), a PAC formed by the former president in 2020. … The former president’s counsel saved those scans onto a thumb drive and provided the thumb drive to the government that day."

Moreover, Axios added, "A witness scanned the contents of the box containing the classified materials and stored them on a laptop in her possession owned by Trump’s Save America PAC, according to a footnote in the opinion."

Referring to the Politico article, The Guardian’s Hugo Lowell added, "This was the incident where Trump aide Chamberlain Harris — known as ROTUS, short for Receptionist of the United States — scanned and uploaded classified docs onto her laptop … Guardian reported this contemporaneously last year, as did CNN."

Open Secrets reports that during the 2021–2022 cycle, the Save America PAC raised well over $108 million and spent over $121 million. The PAC has raised over $76 million and spent over $85 million in the 2023–2024 cycle.

Trump faces backlash as report claims his adviser scanned and saved contents of box that had classified docs

Several people slammed Donald Trump as a report claimed that his adviser scanned and saved contents of the box that had classified docs.

A user wrote on X, "Why hasn't this traitor been hauled in? Getting sick and tired of these lunatics getting special treatment" while one added, "I’m sure she had no clearance to view these classified docs. Who instructed her to scan them? DJT, no doubt. How many times have they been disseminated, and to whom? Scary!!!"

Few of the online comments read, "Charge the Aid too. Without proper clearance and the proper venue, she had no right viewing secret documents, much less scanning them and saving them in her laptop" while one stated, "Trump's assistant that scanned some of the documents and stored them on a laptop better not have sent those documents in an email or loaded them on the dark web or to a shared cloud account...... that would be an extremely serious crime...."

Another comment read, "Cannon has to go, this is not a joke and the fact that the RNC is using classified information for unknown political purposes is a massive security breach. If the DOJ does nothing about this then they are useless" whereas one mentioned, "so the documents could have been emailed or uploaded to the dark web......

seems this is now an espionage case......"
