WASHINGTON, DC: Former Rep Adam Kinzinger intensified his campaign against President Donald Trump by predicting that the Trump surname will one day be viewed alongside those of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and revolutionary war traitor Benedict Arnold.

The remark marked Kinzinger's latest public broadside against Trump. It also came a day after he launched a new political action committee (PAC) aimed at backing candidates who oppose the Trump administration.

Adam Kinzinger's campaign against Trump continues

In a post on X on Friday, June 26, Kinzinger wrote, "FYI within three years, the last name 'Trump' will be treated the same as 'Dahmer' and 'Benedict Arnold.'"

The prediction is one of Kinzinger's sharpest attacks yet on the president, whom he has criticized consistently for years over his conduct and leadership.

The 48-year-old has been taking aim at Trump almost daily since last year, repeatedly criticizing what he says the president represents.

Last month, Kinzinger told MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace that Trump's political support would eventually collapse.

"I guarantee you something, and I know this: In five or 10 years, there won't be a single person left in this country that will ever admit to supporting Donald Trump, except for those that have their stuff all over Twitter," he said.

Backing that prediction, Kinzinger argued Trump's behavior during his second term was "spiraling" and said the trend would only worsen.

"Eventually, people are going to be like, 'We've had enough,'" he said of what he described as the Republican leader's "spiraling" behavior.

Adam Kinzinger launches Back the Bold PAC

Kinzinger paired his escalating criticism with political action this week by announcing on Thursday the launch of a new PAC called "Back the Bold."

The PAC is intended to support Democratic and independent candidates who Kinzinger says have the "courage" to stand up to the Trump administration and defend democratic institutions.

According to Kinzinger, the effort is designed to help flip House and Senate seats currently held by what he calls Republican "enablers."

"Today we're watching the rule of law bent to the will of one man because too few leaders are wanting to stand up and say 'enough,'" Kinzinger said in a video announcing the PAC.

"So what do we do about it? We back the bold," he continued. "Today I'm launching Back The Bold PAC to restore accountability in Washington."

Kinzinger has remained one of Trump's most outspoken Republican critics since 2020 and was one of only two Republicans to serve on the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

While discussing Trump supporters during his MS NOW interview, the Illinois politician said he could tell them "we told you so" because of the case the committee presented years earlier.

Still, he said he remains "heartbroken" that Fox News viewers are being told everything is "fine" and "great" with Trump, even as he pointed to what he described as the president's unpopular Iran war.
