OREM, UTAH: After some of the left's wildest takes following the shocking killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, one viral clip from 2020 is making the rounds again.

It shows President Donald Trump’s reaction to the death of his longtime nemesis, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. His supporters are now calling it a “lesson in humility" for the left.

Trump’s classy reaction to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death

When Ruth Bader Ginsburg died in September 2020, President Donald Trump wasn’t reading from a carefully polished statement or campaign script. He was caught off guard by a reporter while boarding Air Force One, and his response was raw yet unexpectedly gracious.

“Wow. I didn’t know that. I just — you’re telling me now for the first time,” Trump said, visibly stunned. “She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman. Whether you agree or not, she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life. I’m actually saddened to hear that. I am saddened to hear that," he added.

That clip is once again making the rounds on X, with Charlie Kirk’s supporters urging critics to take note of what dignity looks like in the wake of his death.

"Dear Leftists, Here is Trump finding out that Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed away, one of his most vocal critics. THIS is what you call a dignified response. All it takes is a bit of humanity," one user posted on X.

"Trump gives a lesson in humanity. Leftists Square 'fascist' and then revel in political assassination. I know which side I'm on," another wrote.

"Genuine heart in this. No smirking, no micro expressions of glee and to those who hate Trump it’s important they see this," someone else chimed in.

"Showing grace makes a person shine. To put someone down after their death is abhorrent and inhumane," a comment read.

"No surprise. Despite the efforts of legacy media Donald Trump has always had class in abundance," another gushed.

Harsh left-wing reactions follow Charlie Kirk’s death

Some Democrats and progressive voices responded to Charlie Kirk’s killing with sneers rather than sympathy.

Rep Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) didn’t hold back in an interview with the left-wing outlet Zeteo, mocking the idea that Kirk was simply a man seeking open political debate. “There are a lot of people who are talking about him [Kirk] just wanting to have a civil debate,” Omar said. “These people are full of s*** and it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness.”

She criticized the Turning Point USA founder for downplaying George Floyd, opposing Juneteenth, and spreading what she called “hateful rhetoric” online. “There is nothing more f***ed up than to pretend that his words and actions haven’t been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so,” Omar added.

Hours after Kirk was gunned down at Utah Valley University, Illinois Gov JB Pritzker pointed the finger at Trump himself.

“Political violence, unfortunately, has been ratcheting up in this country,” Pritzker told reporters, referencing the recent murder of Minnesota’s Democratic House speaker. “I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country — I think the president’s rhetoric often foments it,” he said.

Some local leaders and even people in uniform went further. “A lot of good people died today. Charlie Kirk wasn’t one of them,” wrote Michael Kilbane, City Council President of Fairview Park, Ohio, in a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, a Secret Service agent couldn’t resist celebrating. “If you are mourning this guy .. delete me. He spewed hate and racism on his show,” Anthony Pough posted on Facebook, according to RealClearPolitics. “At the end of the day, you answer to GOD and speak things into existence. You can only circumvent karma, she doesnt [sic] leave,” he added.

That post earned him a quick suspension. “We are aware of the employee’s social media post from today and the individual has been placed on administrative leave as we investigate the matter,” a Secret Service spokesperson told the New York Post, adding the agency “will not tolerate any behavior which violates our code of conduct.”
