Venice locals threaten to disrupt Jeff Bezos' $7M wedding, vow to make guests ‘choke on wedding cake’

VENICE, ITALY: Locals in Venice have reportedly vowed to create a ruckus while arming themselves with water pistols at Jeff Bezos' upcoming wedding with his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.
The Amazon CEO and journalist are scheduled to tie the knot between June 24 and 26 on Bezos’ $500 million superyacht Koru, set to be anchored just outside the floating city, the New York Post reported.
The lavish wedding is estimated to cost $7 million, and famous names like Lady Gaga and Elton John are expected to perform at the event.

However, some residents in Venice, who are protesting against the event, have a very different plan.

Citing the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine, the news outlet reported that, as per activists leading the protests, they said they will “throw ourselves into the canal if we have to, we’ll make sure they choke on their wedding cake.”

The local No Space for Bezos movement even stated that they “don’t object to the marriage, but to the hubris of this technocrat feudal overlord who acts with such entitlement.”

The protesters have also planned to block the major waterways into the city, which will not just create issues for the wedding organizers, but will also affect goods’ price, leading to high rates.
A representative for the Despar supermarket in Venice said, “If they block the canal, we wouldn’t receive our goods. They would definitely block the Grand Canal, which is what transporters use to deliver goods in the morning.”
“They start from Tronchetto and then arrive at Rialto [bridge in the center of the city], so it would create quite a lot of issues. The goods wouldn’t arrive,” they added.

Jeff Bezos tying the knot with Lauren Sanchez with strong prenup
This came after another report said that the 61-year-old businessman is getting married for the second time after divorcing his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, but not apparently without a strong prenup.
He reportedly lost more than $38 billion worth of Amazon shares in his divorce from Scott.

According to longtime California lawyer Alphonse Provinziano, “Jeff Bezos doesn't just want a prenup, he wants a prenup that will survive any legal challenge. For someone as rich as Bezos, that means preparing documentation of the complex accounting arrangements and business deals he's involved in so that she couldn't later claim that he hid certain assets from her.”
