PARIS, FRANCE: Simone Biles has added three gold medals to her impressive collection at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games, making her the most decorated gymnast in Olympic history with a total of seven gold medals.

However, amid her stunning performance, rumors began circulating that Biles is expecting her first child with husband Jonathan Owens, an NFL player.

The speculation started with a viral tweet on X that stated, "Still can’t get over the fact that Simone Biles did all of that while being injured AND pregnant! A true GOAT indeed."

Claims about Simone Biles being pregnant go viral across social media

When asked for confirmation, the account misleadingly claimed that Simone Biles announced her pregnancy during an interview, according to Distractify.

Despite the convincing claim, no such interview occurred, and Biles has not made any public pregnancy announcement. These rumors were quickly debunked, highlighting the ease with which misinformation can spread on social media.

In a separate incident, another rumor falsely claimed that Fox News reported major news about Biles, alleging that she announced her retirement and disclosed a pregnancy during the Paris Olympics, as per Snopes.

According to the fabricated story, Fox News revealed that Biles was "expecting a baby".

This claim, however, was found to be entirely false. A comprehensive search of FoxNews.com and the network’s television transcripts revealed no such report.

Additionally, a Fox News spokesperson confirmed to Snopes via email, "This was never reported by Fox News." The absence of such a significant announcement from reputable news outlets further confirmed that the rumors were baseless.

Biles herself addressed the topic indirectly. During a TikTok video at the Olympics, she shared a humorous anecdote about getting "baby Botox" for her 27th birthday, clarifying that it was not to her liking and that she hadn't repeated the procedure.

This light-hearted interaction with her fans served to dispel the pregnancy rumors further.

Simone Biles hopes for having children in the future with Jonathan Owens

While Simone Biles is not currently expecting, she and husband Jonathan Owens have openly discussed their desire to start a family in the future.

During a Q&A session on her social media, Biles expressed her hopes for having children, saying, "Yes, we want kids. I would say 2 & Jonathan would say 3 is the perfect number. I don’t want to be outnumbered lol."

Owens echoed this sentiment in an interview on 'The Pivot Podcast,' indicating that while they do plan to have children, Biles' career is currently their priority. "I got to let my baby handle herself first," he stated, showing his support for her gymnastics journey.

In the meantime, Biles is enjoying her role as an aunt. She celebrated the birth of her niece, Ronni, in November 2022, sharing her excitement on social media.

"My precious little niece made her debut Friday. I’m so proud to be your TT & I’m excited to spoil you," she captioned a heartfelt photo.

As Biles continues to dominate the gymnastics world, she has also expressed the importance of enjoying the present moment.

On August 4, she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to remind fans and media alike not to pressure athletes about their future plans immediately after significant achievements.

"You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what's next after they win a medal at the Olympics," she wrote, urging everyone to let athletes savor their hard-earned success.
