LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish, the global pop phenomenon, has thrilled the music industry with the announcement of her highly anticipated third studio album, 'Hit Me Hard and Soft'.

After a three-year hiatus since her critically acclaimed release 'Happier Than Ever', the 22-year-old Grammy winner has revealed that her new body of work will drop on May 17, much to the delight of her fans worldwide, as per Rolling Stone.

Album cover for 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' has captivated Eilish's fanbase

The album cover for 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' has already captivated the attention of Eilish's devoted fanbase.

Featuring the artist herself submerged underwater, barefoot and sinking beneath a white wooden door, the striking imagery has sparked speculation about the album's themes and aesthetics.

In an Instagram post announcing the release date, Eilish emphasized that the album is intended to be experienced in its entirety.

"Not doing singles I wanna give it to you all at once," she wrote, adding that she and her brother and frequent collaborator, Finneas, "truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can't wait for you to hear it."

Cryptic images and messages hinted at album

In the days leading up to the official announcement, Eilish had been strategically teasing her fans with cryptic images and messages on Instagram's close-friends feature, which she has made open to the public.

One story showcased the title of the album inked on Eilish's skin, while the second one provided peeks at the album artwork. 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' represents Eilish's third full-length album, following the success of her groundbreaking debut, 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' in 2019, and its critically acclaimed successor, 'Happier Than Ever', in 2021.

Alongside her musical achievements, Eilish has also used her platform to advocate for sustainability and industry reform. In an interview with Billboard last week, she highlighted the absence of sustainable practices within the music industry.
