Wendy Williams' documentary reveals end of 21-year marriage with Kevin Hunter put her into a 'dark space'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams put on a cold front while she spoke about her ex-husband and longtime manager Kevin Hunter in her new Lifetime documentary 'Where Is Wendy Williams?.'
"I don't care about him or that baby," the former talk show host said of Hunter in 2019 after it was disclosed he had a baby with another woman, according to People.

Wendy Williams' family opens up on her painful divorce
In the documentary set to air on February 24 on Lifetime despite an ongoing Williams' guardian suing the network's parent company A&E, her family shared that the end of her 21-year marriage took a toll on her mental health.
“[Wendy's mom] Shirley, may she rest in peace, would always remind me that your aunt would trade everything that she has — every dime, every car, every wig — to be able to have a strong loving household and a loving husband," said Williams' niece Alex Finnie.
"That was ripped from her right after her son had to go off to college [in 2018]. Emotionally, it was just a lot. It was too much for her world," she shared, to which the beloved host's brother Tommy agrees, "It put her back into that dark space."

In the documentary, the media personality said welcoming her son Kevin Jr, with Hunter was "very important to me."
Williams most often dismissed rumors of Hunter's cheating. In March 2019, she revealed on her talk show 'The Wendy Williams Show' that she had been staying in a sober living house.
"I want to shout out to my husband. I’m still wearing my ring," she told her audience.
"He’s my best friend, he’s my lover," she said at the time, adding "I know what you’ve been seeing … I’m still very much in love with my husband and anyone who’s been married … you know.”
However, she confirmed her divorce shortly after she stopped wearing her wedding ring on the show in April 2019.
"My aunt is a lover of love. Being married and having a family was everything to her," said Alex.
"She loved having her show, but the thing she loved more than that was the family unit that she created," Williams' niece continued.
"The fact that ended so tragically and so publicly, I'm sure it must have felt embarrassing for her, not that she'll ever admit that. Her heart was breaking at a time when she had to go out and still make people smile. Would I say that [the divorce] played a role in what we are seeing now? I think absolutely. Absolutely," she added.
