LANSING, MICHIGAN: A Michigan state investigator testified on Wednesday, April 24, that former President Donald Trump, his ex-chief of staff Mark Meadows, and his former attorney Rudy Giuliani were uncharged co-conspirators in a "false electors" scheme that was connected to the 2020 election's subversion efforts.

During the hearing, Duane Silverthorn, an attorney for one of the defendants charged in the scheme, read out a list of names and asked if they were "unindicted co-conspirators" in Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's investigation.

Howard Shock, a special agent for the attorney general's office who was being cross-examined, replied in the affirmative when the names of Trump, Meadows, and Giuliani were mentioned.

He also confirmed that former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis' name was on the list, as per NBC News.

Trump campaign spokesperson says Michigan state investigator’s testimony a trial at interfering

In 2023, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office filed charges against 16 people who falsely claimed that Trump had defeated Democrat Joe Biden in the state.

Trump campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, said in a statement on Wednesday the ex-POTUS was being targeted due to him emerging as the 2024 presumptive GOP presidential nominee, and that Biden's Democratic allies were "further abusing and misusing the power of their offices in a no-holds-barred effort to interfere in the presidential election."

According to Giuliani's spokesperson, Ted Goodman, the ex-Trump lawyer "is proud to stand up for the countless Americans who raised legitimate concerns surrounding the 2020 US Presidential Election."

Meadows' counsel argued that Shock's assertion was unsubstantiated, claiming that someone "saying that does not make it so."

The attorney, George Terwilliger, told NBC News that it "sounds like an opinion, not a fact."

On Wednesday, a state grand jury in Arizona issued an indictment against "fake electors" and key associates of Trump for their alleged involvement in a scheme to keep the MAGA strongman in office following his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

While some names have been redacted, individuals such as Meadows, Giuliani, and Ellis have been charged but remain unserved.

Although the former POTUS is not among those charged in the indictment, he is referred to as "Unindicted Coconspirator 1."

The 77-year-old former commander-in-chief along with Giuliani, Meadows, and Ellis, were indicted in Georgia last year, along with 15 others, on charges related to alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.

While Meadows, Giuliani, and Trump have pleaded not guilty to the charges, Ellis is one of four co-defendants who has pled guilty.

Furthermore, special counsel Jack Smith has filed federal charges alleging Trump was involved in a plot to overturn the 2020 election results. Although not named in the indictment, Giuliani is likely one of six unindicted co-conspirators in the case.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Internet reacts to Trump,  Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani being called 'unindicted co-conspirator' in 2020 Michigan fake electors probe

One remarked, "What hasn’t the mob boss done? Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for making him their nominee. What an absolute joke."

Another quipped, "Trump’s never met a crime he didn’t want to commit," and a person declared, "Of course he is. He’s a walking crime spree."

"Why is he unindicted? How many free passes is the US justice system going to give this guy?" asked someone else.

An individual declared, "Time for Michigan to make him an indicted conspirator," while one more added, "Donald Trump made a mess of his life. The court case should be very interesting tomorrow."
