MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Jimmy Kimmel concocted a bizarre conspiracy theory about Aaron Rodgers on the March 14 episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' following accusations against the New York Jets quarterback for allegedly propagating falsehoods about the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The late-night host targeted Rodgers, who is being considered as a possible running mate for independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr, after CNN disclosed that he had disseminated conspiracy theories concerning the tragic incident.

Referencing his previous feud with Rodgers in January, Kimmel acknowledged the quarterback's reaction to the CNN report before teasing his audience to brace themselves for a surprising story about the former Green Bay Packers star.

In a tongue-in-cheek manner, Kimmel joked, "What the deep state won't tell you is that Aaron Rodgers never stepped foot on a football field, he's not a football player, he fabricated his entire career."

“Fact, first time he played in an NFL game was last year –– the week before his first game with the Jets –– Aaron’s body double, the guy who played every single game for him before this, died of Covid and they had nobody dumb looking enough to fill in," he added.

Continuing his jest, Kimmel brought up the quarterback's purported Achilles injury while with the Jets last year, suggesting that the "real" Rodgers had to fake an injury.

He then delved into an interpretation of the number eight. He said it represents "man’s true ‘born again’ event when he’s resurrected from the dead into eternal life", as per the Bible.

“And guess what number Rodgers chose to wear when he ‘played’ for the Jets? Anyone? Anyone?” Kimmel asked, as Guillermo Rodriguez replied, “Eight".

“Eight, that’s right, number eight. Whoa, wow. That story, by the way, is more believable than what Aaron Rodgers told people happened at Sandy Hook,” Kimmel said.
