WASHINGTON, DC: The White House posted a wild AI-generated image of President Donald Trump and alligators at 'Alligator Alcatraz', following the POTUS' visit to his administration’s controversial new migrant detention center in Florida’s Everglades.

During his visit to the detention center, Trump joked about the reptile-infested waters surrounding the facility, saying, "We’re going to teach them [detainees] how to run away from an alligator if they escape prison."

The picture shared by the White House's X (formerly Twitter) account showed Trump standing alongside three alligators wearing caps labeled "ICE", referring to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Similarly, the image and the post were captioned, "Alligator Alcatraz: Make America Safe Again".

It was somewhat similar to an image shared by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that showed four alligators with "ICE" caps in front of a prison-esque fence.

Interestingly, the POTUS and his allies have hyped the new facility, surrounded by wetlands infested by pythons and alligators, and what would happen to the migrants who try to flee the detention center.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said about the migrant detention center in a statement, "There is only one road leading in, and the only way out is a one-way flight. It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain. The facility will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process, and deport criminal illegal aliens."

Donald Trump's joke about alligators eating immigrants isn't new

Before Trump visited the detention center, he spoke to reporters where he said that snakes and alligators would attack anyone trying to get out.

Moreover, during his visit, he made another joke about "a lot of cops that are in the form of alligators" at the facility.

The president's remarks faced backlash for their performative cruelty. However, they were not unique as references to "alligator bait" were made by Jim Crow-era racist propagandists a century ago about African Americans, according to MSNBC.

A postcard from 1921 labeled Black babies as "alligator bait" along with a racist 1908 article in The Washington Times that tells the story of "pickaninnies", a racial slur used for Black people, being used to lure alligators at a New York zoo, the outlet reported.

The sub headline of the article read, "Zoo Specimens Coaxed to Summer Quarters by Plump Little Africans".

Furthermore, the Jim Crow Museum lists numerous other examples of racist imagery and editorials depicting Black people on its website.

Oh my gosh holy crap. This can't be real. Who hired you? Who is posting this stuff? Please don't tell me your my Generation."
