NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg has recently come under fire after she claimed that the fiery feud between President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk might be nothing more than a carefully crafted publicity stunt.

In a jaw-dropping moment on Monday's episode of 'The View', the hosts dove into the escalating war between the two power players, who have been trading jabs and airing dirty laundry across their platforms, X and Truth Social, for days.

While 'The View' hosts Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, and Sunny Hostin dug into the drama of the escalating Donald Trump-Elon Musk feud with a mix of fascination and amusement, Whoopi Goldberg took a sharply different stance.

Hostin chuckled over the fallout, calling the end of the “big, beautiful bromance” between the two public figures “very funny.”

Navarro went a step further, likening the social media spat to a surreal playground battle. “I found the entire 'Yo mama's so ugly' fight between the two of them incredibly amazing and entertaining, but it's also horrifying,” she said.

But Goldberg wasn’t buying any of it. “I love that y’all bought into it,” she said dryly, casting immediate doubt on the sincerity of the clash.

Griffin insisted, “It’s not fake,” but Goldberg stood firm, calling the feud nothing more than a manufactured spectacle.

The 69-year-old actress suggested the ongoing public spat is a calculated distraction, an orchestrated sideshow meant to divert public attention from more pressing political matters.

“This is another distraction to keep us not talking about the stuff we're talking about, but the stuff that they want us to do," Goldberg argued, before adding, “I don’t buy it.”

Her co-hosts pushed back, with Navarro dismissing her theory by calling both Trump and Musk “so legitimately crazy,” and Griffin adding that Goldberg was “giving them too much credit.”

Ultimately, Goldberg questioned the authenticity of their spat, noting the sudden shift in their relationship didn’t add up. “I don’t buy it because they lie,” she said pointedly, the DailyMail reported.

What happened between Donald Trump and Elon Musk?

The fiery feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk exploded into public view on June 3, after the Tesla CEO, former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), slammed the POTUS' flagship "Big, Beautiful Bill," calling it a "disgusting abomination."

Musk criticized the sweeping tax and spending package as fiscally reckless. In response, Trump threatened to pull government contracts connected to Musk’s companies.

The clash escalated further when Musk, without presenting evidence, suggested Trump may have been tied to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, alleging his name appeared in the so-called "Epstein files." Trump quickly denied the accusation, reiterating that he had never been on Epstein’s plane or visited his island.

Tensions erupted again when Musk responded to a video of Trump claiming he would have easily won Pennsylvania, saying, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election. Democrats would control the House and Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude.”

However, on June 6, Trump appeared to downplay the situation. Speaking to CNN, the president said he had no plans to speak with Musk anytime soon. “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem,” Trump remarked dismissively.
