NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' host Whoopi Goldberg expressed her surprise at several Republicans sending former president Joe Biden well-wishes following his prostate cancer diagnosis.

Whoopi Goldberg surprised to see Republicans wishing Joe Biden speedy recovery
During the episode, 'The View' hosts noted that they are thinking of the former president and his family following his cancer diagnosis.

Goldberg said, "This diagnosis has been met with an outpouring of support on both sides of the aisle. It was surprising to see some of the people who wished them well, and it made me feel better."
She added, "It made me feel better about it."

Moreover, the talk show host also shamed anyone who accused Biden of concealing his diagnosis until after the 2024 election concluded, according to OK! Magazine.
"Had this been the case while he was president, there's no way you wouldn't have known. Because he would have had to have these treatments," she continued.
"This is not something that he was carrying around or hiding," Goldberg added.

Goldberg further said, "Again, I want to commend the people who cut their tongues off and said get well soon. It did something for me."
Meanwhile, her co-host Ana Navarro added, "And the people who didn't cut their tongues off: I have a place where they can put 'em!"

To which, Goldberg replied, "Well, I'm not giving them any sun at all. That's why I'm not even mentioning it."
Donald Trump wishes Biden a fast recovery after prostate cancer diagnosis
President Donald Trump offered his sympathy to his predecessor Joe Biden after the former president was diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of prostate cancer.
Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday and wrote, "Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."
Notably, Biden’s cancer diagnosis was made public a week after reports emerged that a "small nodule" was found in his prostate that needed "further evaluation," as per People.
A statement from Biden's office read, "Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone."

"While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians," it added.
Apart from Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr also wished a speedy recovery to Biden. He wrote, "Breaking: Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery. Agreed 100%."
Georgia Republican Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene also said she was "sorry to see this news. Cancer is truly awful. My Dad passed away in 2021 with cancer. Prays for Joe Biden and his family."

"Cancer is the absolute worst. It is hell. It is incredibly difficult for any family, anywhere that has to deal with it. Wishing nothing but healing, prayers, light, and strength to President Biden and his family. I don't believe times like these are appropriate for politics," Meghan McCain, daughter of the late senator John McCain, wrote on X.
