'Why should she?': Swifties come to Taylor Swift's defense as she excludes Travis Kelce from Grammy speeches

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of pop superstar Taylor Swift, affectionately known as 'Swifties', and NFL enthusiasts alike expressed their disappointment on social media when it was revealed that Travis Kelce would not be attending the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Unfortunatly, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end "has got to get ready for this big ol’ Super Bowl."

There was a palpable sense of anticipation among fans who were hoping to see the couple together at the big event.

However, the singer's boyfriend was notably absent, and she did not mention his name in her acceptance speeches. Interestingly, her fans seemed to accept this, posing the question, "Why should she?"

During her acceptance speeches at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday night, Taylor Swift did not mention her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

When Celine Dion announced that Swift’s album 'Midnights' had won Album of the Year, the visibly surprised singer, looking glamorous in a custom Schiaparelli outfit, ascended the stage with her friends Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff.

Swift, who announced her new album, 'Tortured Poets Department,' praised Antonoff as a "once-in-a-generation producer" and hailed Del Rey as a "legend".

However, she did not acknowledge Kelce, whom she has been in a relationship with since the summer.

"All I want to do is keep being able to do this," Swift shared while accepting the award. "I love it so much. It makes me so happy."

"It makes me unbelievably blown away that it makes some people happy who voted for this award, too. All I want to do is keep doing this," per Page Six.

Travis Kelce still supports his GF Taylor Swift

The NFL star was absent from the awards show as his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, had traveled to Las Vegas earlier that Sunday to gear up for their match against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

However, this didn't deter the NFL star from showing support for his partner. Travis, 34, showed his approval by "liking" an Instagram post by NPR, which featured Taylor, also 34, gracing the red carpet at the event on Sunday, February 4.

Swift's fans, were quick to spot this and filled the comments section with praises for the tight end’s understated show of support.

A Swiftie commented, "Dad just liked mom's picture!!" Another user gushed, "TRAVIS LIKED😭😭😭".

"Travis liking!! He probably be staring at that photo right now," added another. 

Travis shared on the January 31 episode of 'The Pat McAfee Show', "I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she's nominated for." 

"But I think I got practice on Sunday, or I think Sunday is a travel day. I know I got practice on Saturday. But Sunday is travel day."

Numerous fans questioned the necessity of Taylor Swift mentioning Travis Kelce in her victory speeches.
