KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Patrick 'Pat' Mahomes Sr, the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has revealed that Travis Kelce, the team’s star tight end, is the funnier one among the Kelce brothers.
Pat Sr, who is a former baseball player, shared his insights on the Kelce siblings during an interview with WFAN Sports Radio’s 'Evan & Tiki' show this week.
Patrick 'Pat' Mahomes Sr praises Travis Kelce as ‘another son’
Pat Sr said that he has known Travis Kelce, 34, for a long time and considers him “like another son to me.”
Pat Sr recalled, “I was actually two booths down but soon as he started doing that I was looking down and I saw him." He said he had met Jason once during the game in the washroom.
“I've known him, you know, for quite some time,” Pat said, adding, that Jason's brother Travis, "is like another son to me.”
He also said that he had hung out with him and his brother Jason Kelce, 36, who plays as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, after the Chiefs’ win against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday and also met Taylor Swift.
He said that Jason Kelce might seem like the “wild” brother, but Travis Kelce is actually the one who is more fun. “I mean, you think Jason’s wild, you ought to see Travis!” he said, according to Today. He added, “Those are some fun guys."
Patrick 'Pat' Mahomes Sr jokes about not sitting with Taylor Swift
Patrick 'Pat' Mahomes Sr also joked that he would not be joining Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, in her suite when he attends the AFC Championships in Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium this weekend.
He said that Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have their own arrangements and that Swift can afford any suite she wants.
"I hope not,” Mahomes Sr said, adding "No, I don’t think so. Travis normally has his own thing and Patrick has his own deal too."
"I imagine if Taylor wants her own suite, she’s got enough money to get whichever one she wants," he explained
Jason Kelce about his wife warning him to not go shirtless in front of Taylor Swift
Jason Kelce, previously admitted on 'New Heights Podcast' that his wife, Kylie Kelce, was probably not pleased with his shirtless antics at the Chiefs game on January 21.
He said that he had told her beforehand that he was going to take off his shirt and jump out of the suite, but she had warned him not to.
"I said I'm taking my shirt off and I'm jumping out of that suite. And she said, 'Jason, don't you dare,'" he revealed.
He replied, "I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this", arguing that his shirtless stunt was part of his charm and that he had similarly met his wife.
"She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor," Jason said.
"She's like, 'Be on your best behavior,'" he remembered, adding, "I was like, 'Kylie, the first thing I met you I was blacked out drunk and fell asleep at the bar."
He said that he wanted to make a good first impression on Swift and that his shirtless stunt was his best chance. He added that Travis Kelce had told him that Swift had liked it.
