LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift's loyal fanbase "Swifties," have rallied in support of their beloved pop star and to social media to ridicule Megyn Kelly for her critique of the singer's reaction to a joke made by Jo Koy at the 81st Golden Globe Awards.

The host of the event admitted that his joke, which was targeted at Swift and referenced the NFL, was "weird" and "flat."

The 34-year-old singer who has been in the limelight for her appearances at Travis Kelce's games, appeared unimpressed by the joke and responded by taking a sip from her drink.

However, the 53-year-old media personality contended that the comedian's joke was merely a "gentle jab," which didn't sit well with the Swifties.

What did Megyn Kelly say?

In the latest episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show' podcast, which aired on Monday, January 8, the journalist expressed that the singer should have taken the joke lightly.

In the discussion about Koy's role as the host of the renowned awards show, Kelly highlighted the particular Golden Globes Swift joke that attracted significant criticism from social media users, per OK!

"I actually thought he was spot on with the commentary," Kelly claimed. "She did not appreciate it… Can’t she just like show that she's a good sport? ... I think she made the wrong move."

Author Maureen Callahan also voiced her agreement with the podcaster, confessing that she found the joke to be "funny."

"Come on, come on. You're at the Golden Globes. You're in a category because you really made over $150 million at the box office — no small feat posted Covid. You know, come on," Callahan went on.

"This is what bothers people. You know, this roomful of multimillionaires who are the most privileged who cannot take a swipe?"

"It was a gentle swipe," Kelly responded. "By the way, she's not in charge with the number of times the NFL chooses to put her on cam."

"That's not her fault. It is annoying. And if she were smart, she would laugh like she was in on the joke."

Later on, Kelly explained, "If I had been her advisor, I would have said, you should laugh and maybe even do like a faceplant."

"Like, oh, I'm embarrassed because it's a show I didn't really want that, but I'm dating an NFL football player like something to communicate you get it, it's been a bit much."

She added, "That looked like how dare you question me and my popularity?"

Swifties mock Megyn Kelly

Taylor Swift's fanbase is mocking Megyn Kelly for her criticism of Swift's reaction to Jo Koy's "gentle" joke at the Golden Globes.

A Swiftie took to X and shared, "Omg! This is like the 3rd or 4th tweet maga megyn has made about this trivial issue, we get it megyn you’re obsessed with taylor swift, you will never be her so stop crying loser!"

"Nah. She had a mouth full of champagne. You try smiling. Taylor Swift doesn't give a toss about somebody nobody has heard of and even less about people criticising her relationship," said a user.

"She can write another song and meet them head on while making a fortune they can only dream of."

One user remarked, "Well I think Megyn Kelly made the wrong move by talking about the stony face Taylor made after Jo Koy's NFL joke."

A tweet read in a satirical tone, "Who's Megyn Kelly?"

Another user wrote, "Maga megyn has taylor swift deranged syndrome, it’s obvious she’s envious and jealous, to bad megyn you’re a washed up hag."
