While the kiss came as a shock to many, there was one person who wasn’t the least bit bothered, the actor's longtime girlfriend, fashion designer Georgina Chapman.

"That was one hell of a night for him… and for me as well. To be a part of his moment back then… tonight I had to return the favor," Berry told Variety's Marc Malkin.
She noted that despite crossing paths at Hollywood events over the years, this was the first time she and Brody had shared a red carpet since their infamous moment at the 2003 Oscars.
"He’s nominated this year. He deserved that," the 'Catwoman' star quipped.
Thankfully, Brody's partner, Chapman, had no hard feelings about the unexpected kiss.
"It was quite the moment, wasn’t it?" she told Extra with a smile, adding, "I mean, how can you deny a man a kiss with Halle Berry?"
When asked if Brody was fine with the kiss, Chapman laughed and responded, "He was more than fine."
Berry also shared her thoughts with Extra, noting, "Twenty-one years I’ve been waiting to get him on a red carpet and slap one on."
The actress later shared the moment on Instagram, teasing Brody with the caption, "Surpriseee @adrienbrody!! I had to get some payback."
A kiss that made Oscars history
Back in 2003, while Halle Berry was presenting Adrien Brody with the Best Actor statuette for 'The Pianist' he caught her off guard when he grabbed her face and kissed her.
He cheekily quipped afterward, "I bet they didn’t tell you that was in the gift bag." The moment became one of the most talked-about Oscar stunts of all time.
Reflecting on that night in a recent Variety cover story, Brody acknowledged how times have changed.

"We live in a very conscious time, which is a wonderful thing. And nothing I’ve ever done was ever intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable," he said.
While the 'Swordfish star has previously admitted she was caught off guard by Brody's kiss, she has clearly moved past it.
She even congratulated Brody on his Golden Globe win for 'The Brutalist', commenting on his Instagram, "Congratulations, my friend. You are truly one of one!" as per ABC News.

This year, Brody bagged the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Laszlo Toth, a Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor who emigrates to the US in search of a new life, in 'The Brutalist'.
The film received 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Brady Corbet), Best Supporting Actress (Felicity Jones), Best Supporting Actor (Guy Pearce), and Best Original Screenplay.
It finally took home three awards, including Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Score (Daniel Blumberg).
