LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight, has made a public appeal to her ex-husband Brad Pitt urging him to put an end to their protracted divorce battle.

The couple, who separated in 2016, has been embroiled in a legal fight for nearly eight years with ongoing disputes over child custody, property division, and their French winery, Chateau Miraval.

Jon Voight, 85, voiced his concerns about the impact of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's prolonged divorce on his grandchildren, expressing his hope that Jolie and Pitt could "find a way to make peace" for the sake of their children.

"You know, I think the kids need some stability. I love the kids, and I love my daughter. And I want Brad to step up to do, you know, what he has to do. End this nonsense," Voight said, according to Fox News.

He also expressed his disappointment, mentioning that he "doesn't talk to his grandchildren as much as [he'd] like," adding to his concern about the ongoing situation.

Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 49, began dating after starring in the 2005 action comedy 'Mr & Mrs Smith.' They officially tied the knot in 2014 but separated in 2016.

Although they were declared legally single by a judge in 2019, the couple continues to battle over various issues, including custody of their children, division of assets, and their winery.

Ongoing legal battles between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

The legal wrangling between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has persisted for nearly eight years, with the couple remaining at odds over several key issues.

One of the central points of contention has been the sale of their French winery, Chateau Miraval. In 2021, Jolie sold her share of the winery for $67 million, a move that sparked further legal disputes.

"All the bitterness is partly why the divorce has dragged on for so many years. Neither will let it go," an insider previously told People.

Jolie and Pitt share six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

The custody battle over their children has been particularly contentious with Jolie filing for divorce in 2016 after an alleged violent argument on a plane. Pitt has previously revealed his alcohol problem led to the divorce.

Shiloh Jolie legally drops Brad Pitt’s last name

In August 2023, Shiloh, one of Jolie and Pitt’s children, legally dropped Pitt’s last name, signaling another chapter in the ongoing family saga.

A judge signed off on the name change from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, as per a court ruling obtained by TMZ.

Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, previously told PageSix in July that Pitt "has control of all the properties the couple shared as well as control of the business, but still he demands more, and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages."

In 2022, Jolie was granted sole physical custody of her minor children, including Shiloh at the time while Pitt was allowed "custodial time" with them.
