Anne Hathaway reprises 'Somebody to Love' for Harris fundraiser in NYC and fans are enchanted

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Anne Hathaway reprised the song 'Somebody to Love' in a live performance during a fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Academy Award-winning actress' performance of the Queen song came 20 years after she sang it in her 2004 musical comedy movie 'Ella Enchanted.'

The fundraiser event, Broadway for Harris, was held on Monday, October 14 night, in New York City and was attended by Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Porter, Audra McDonald, Kristin Chenoweth, and more.

The actress stunned the viewers with a shimmering black blazer/skirt and thigh-high black boots, appearing on stage after attending the premiere of 'The Apprentice.'

Hathaway emphasized that she was voting for Harris in November and used her live performance to make a plea to undecided voters ahead of the Democratic presidential nominee's face-off with former President Donald Trump, as per Daily Mail.

Before starting the first line of the hit song "Can anybody find me/Somebody to love?" Hathaway asked the hesitant voters to "contemplate a question they might be struggling with."

Nearing the conclusion of the reprisal, the 41-year-old actress urged everyone to cast their votes on November 5, reminding them that it was the day that America should be "free."

"We've got a big choice to make, America, and you do have to make a choice, you do have to vote," she continued, receiving cheers from the crowd.

"And maybe in this election... maybe the somebody you love, is you. You've got to vote for yourself, America," Hathaway added.

Her song was met with loud applause, and the actress blew kisses to the audience, starting a Kamala chant before leaving the stage.

Hathaway was only 21 when she first reprised the 1976 hit 'Somebody To Love' as the character Ella. The musical was not a box office success, earning only $27.4 million despite a $31 million budget.

She is all set to return to her breakthrough character, Andy Sachs, in 'The Devil Wears Prada' sequel with co-stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. In addition, the actress confirmed she would reprise the role of Mia Thermopolis in 'The Princess Diaries 3.'
