LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande broke her silence a day after Cassandra Peterson, known as Elvira, recounted the singer's diva behavior during a 2015 encounter. While addressing the backlash, the 'One Last Time' also apologized and explained the reason for doing so.

Horror icon Cassandra Peterson recently graced the seasonal Halloween event at Knott's Berry Farm. During the session, an attendee shouted "Ariana Grande," prompting Peterson to recount a past encounter where the singer refused to take a photo with her at an event. 

This revelation sparked outrage among fans of the "Queen of Halloween," who booed Grande for what they perceived as disrespect and a missed opportunity to honor a legendary figure in the horror genre.

Ariana Grande apologizes to Elvira over their 2015 encounter

On October 21, Elvira shared screenshots from an article recounting an incident at a Halloween event on her Instagram. She wrote to her 1.5 million followers in her post, "Story time! Context is everything! Swipe ➡️ I’m back at @knottsscaryfarm tonight for the ‘Yours Cruelly, Elvira XXperience’ Q & A + autograph signing! See ya there!" 

Responding to the post, Ariana Grande commented, "I'm so disheartened to see this."

The 'Break Free' singer admitted she didn’t remember the encounter, explaining, "I actually don’t even remember getting the chance to meet you because i had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family (this was around 7 years ago and at the time i was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places)."

She then apologized to Elvira and said, "But if i’m misremembering this moment, i sincerely apologize for offending you so." 

Ariana also thanked Elvira for being kind to her mom and wrote, "Thank you for being so nice to my mom, she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now but i’ll talk to her… clearly, we all have our days!)."

She concluded her message with, "Sending love always. ♡ you’ll always be our queen of halloween!"

Ariana Grande's comment received over 19,000 likes and more than 1,000 comments within hours, with many users criticizing Grande while others directed their ire at Elvira for recalling and sharing events from years ago.

One social media user wrote, "This is why we love you ! always responding with love and explaining yourself even when you shouldn't have to. you're so strong for enduring all that you unfortunately have to endure and your strength is so admirable."

Another user commented, "You don't deserve all this hate ari !!!! you are more than allowed to defend yourself 💕,"

One individual slammed Elvira and wrote, "This is so embarrassing, this happened 7/8 year ago." 

One person stated, "Damn. Ariana Grande’s fans sound ridiculous."
