Barron Trump to influence mom Melania’s WH Christmas duties years after F-bomb controversy, say insiders
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: President-elect Donald Trump's youngest son Barron is likely to influence his mother, Melania, as she carries out her White House Christmas duties in the new term, years after her F-bomb controversy.
Several sources, including a mix of her friends, political sources, and Mar-a-Lago staff, recently revealed to People how Melania is expected to turn things around with White House traditions in the new term, putting aside her feelings if they contradict with what the situation demands of her.
Melania Trump will put Barron Trump's needs 'above everything'
A source in Palm Beach informed the outlet, "Melania will do what she is asked as first lady but under her own terms, and that includes decorating the White House for the Christmas holidays."
The insider continued, "She will set her own schedule, make her own rules, and use her own taste. She will do what she wants with Barron’s needs coming first above everything."
The source further added, "Will her attitude this term be any different than before? I doubt it."
Moreover, businesswoman and Melania's friend Robin Bernstein agrees that 18-year-old Barron’s needs will determine the amount of time she devotes to decorating for the holidays.
The former ambassador to the Dominican Republic under Donald Trump said, "Melania has exquisite taste and will make the White House beautiful and magical. But she has Barron to look after, and that time will factor into how long she spends on various parts of the project."
Bernstein added, “You can take one look at Melania and see how meticulous she is in appearance. She agrees that Christmas is a magical time of the year, and she definitely gets into it, and will continue to get into it."
She also said, "She has a magical style herself and that will translate to the White House decorating. I think she will spend the time she needs to make it look perfect."
Moreover, another social source added that Melania would prefer spending time at Mar-a-Lago or Trump Tower - where Barron is living while he attends New York University - than at the White House while she is first lady.
The source said, "Seasonal fun in the sun is more her style, but like any other first lady she will have duties and [decorating] is one that is palatable to her."
The person added, "This term, without her [late mother Amalija Knavs], she will seek to make her own traditions, and we may all be surprised. She has Barron with her and since he is closer to Washington than if she were hiding out in Palm Beach, she may likely spend more time and devote more honest interest in decorating for Christmas in the White House."
The source also said, "This doesn’t mean she is gung-ho, it just means she will do what she has to do. And that is nothing new."
Melania Trump's F-bomb controversy
Melania Trump was secretly recorded in the summer of 2018 when she expressed her frustration at being criticized for her husband’s policy of separating families who illegally crossed the southern border while at the same time needing to perform traditional first lady duties, such as preparing for Christmas, according to CNN.
She said in a tape secretly recorded by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend and senior adviser to Melania, "They say I’m complicit. I’m the same like him, I support him. I don’t say enough I don’t do enough where I am."
Melania was heard saying in the secretly recorded audio clip, "I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f**k about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?"
She then said, "OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f***king break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that? I cannot go, I was trying get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn’t have a chance – needs to go through the process and through the law."
Melania Trump’s chief of staff Stephanie Grisham blasted Wolkoff in a statement for releasing the recording. She said, "Secretly taping the first lady and willfully breaking an NDA to publish a salacious book is a clear attempt at relevance. The timing of this continues to be suspect - as does this never-ending exercise in self-pity and narcissism."
