In a heartwarming display of compassion, the 57-year-old investor emerged as the top donor for a GoFundMe campaign supporting 15-year-old Kaylee Gain, who suffered severe brain damage after a brutal assault during a brawl near a high school in St. Louis, as per Daily Mail.

Ackman's generous $10,000 contribution has been widely praised by the internet community, while Gain's family remains resolute in their fight to aid her recovery amidst an overwhelming influx of donations and well-wishes.

The altercation, which occurred near Hazelwood East High School in St. Louis, left Gain with a skull fracture and frontal lobe damage as her head was repeatedly smashed against the concrete.

Bystander videos of the incident, which have circulated on social media, show Gain being punched multiple times and sent careening to the ground, where her head was viciously bashed into the concrete. As groups of other teens brawled nearby, Gain lay convulsing on the ground, awaiting the arrival of EMTs.

"Kaylee is fighting hard to stay alive and heal but this is only the beginning of a very uphill battle for Kaylee and her family," stated her close ones on the GoFundMe page. "The path to recovery will be extremely hard on the family, not only mentally but financially."

As per her family, Gain is experiencing "major brain bleeding and swelling" and remains in a "critical state."

Bill Ackman's donation confirmed by a partner at Pershing Square Capital Management

Ackman, known for his philanthropic efforts, has contributed a staggering $10,000 towards a GoFundMe campaign set up to support Gain's medical bills and her family's expenses during this trying time.

The generous donation, confirmed by a partner at Pershing Square Capital Management, LP, has helped propel the fundraising efforts, which have amassed over $213,000 in only two days.

On Saturday, March 9, authorities arrested a 15-year-old girl on assault charges. She was subsequently taken to the St. Louis County Family Court and has remained in custody as of Sunday afternoon, March 10.
