BUFFALO, NEW YORK: Amid the lights, cheers, and excitement of playing for thousands of adoring fans, Grammy-winning rapper Drake took a solemn moment during a recent concert to pay heartfelt tribute to two lives tragically cut short, as per Daily Mail.

Drake addressed the tragic deaths of a mother and daughter who were killed in a devastating car crash shortly after attending his concert earlier this month in St Louis. The chart-topping artist shared an impassioned message about appreciating life’s fragility and showing compassion.

His words and gestures, including giving $25,000 to a cancer survivor in the audience, have earned him praise for showing empathy despite the glitz and glamour that comes with fame.

Laticha Bracero, 42, and her 21-year-old daughter Alyssa Cordova were killed on February 14 when a speeding car struck them just after they left Drake’s concert. The driver, 22-year-old Monte Henderson, allegedly blew through an intersection at over 70 mph, causing the fatal crash that also left three others hospitalized.

Drake honored Bracero and Cordova’s lives during his Buffalo show, encouraging the audience to appreciate their lives and show love to those around them. "You never know what somebody else’s reality will be when they walk out of this building," Drake said solemnly.

"So for this moment let’s get all of us together, all 18,000 people. Turn to somebody that you do not know and look them in the eyes, and I want you to prove that you’re grateful for your life," he added.

As audience members embraced and shook hands, Drake continued passionately, "I appreciate that gesture that you’ve done for me. I think one of the most important things in life is the idea that you have two choices: you can either wake up every day and you can be a piece of s**t, or you can wake up every day and be a decent person."

Drake donates $25K to stage 4 cancer survivor during Buffalo concert

Drake then noticed a female fan holding a sign saying she recently beat stage 4 cancer, just in time to see her favorite performer. Moved, Drake said the sign meant a lot to him and that "everything happens for a reason."

In a grand gesture echoing his 2018 'God’s Plan' music video where he awarded fans $25,000, Drake gifted this cancer survivor the same amount - earning a deafening roar of applause from the New York crowd. According to local station WVIB Buffalo, the emotional fan did receive the money.

This $25,000 giveaway has become a Drake signature at recent shows, with his largest donation being $100,000 to a Nashville cancer survivor earlier this month.
