WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA: On Thursday, May 2, President Joe Biden visited Wilmington and expressed his disappointment in the lack of support from Republican lawmakers for his stimulus and infrastructure bills, emphasizing that these bills would provide access to clean drinking water in the Tar Heel state.

“In fact, your Sen Ted Budd called the infrastructure law part of ‘a socialist agenda',” Biden remarked. “I don't know about you, but I don't think ensuring kids can drink clean water to avoid brain damage is a socialist agenda. I think it's just plain decency.”

With former President Donald Trump just missing out in 2020, North Carolina may prove to be a key swing state in the upcoming November general election.

What did President Joe Biden say in his address to North Carolinians?

President Joe Biden didn't hold back while talking about his political adversary, former POTUS Donald Trump, during his speech in Wilmington.

The Commander-in-Chief made similar remarks as before, but this time, he referred to him as his “predecessor,” according to DailyMail.

The 81-year-old incumbent president spoke about Trump's attempts to launch an “infrastructure week” with great enthusiasm, but each time he tried to do so, some scandal or the other would surface and the proposed federal investment would fall through.

“He didn't build a damn thing,” President Biden claimed.

“At the same time, he and his MAGA allies in Congress were happy to give a $2 trillion tax cut that benefitted the super wealthy and the biggest corporations while exploding the federal debt,” the Democrat statesman asserted.

President Joe Biden revised his initial plans and made an appearance in Charlotte to meet with family members of the four police officers who were fatally shot earlier this week during a routine warrant operation.

The officers who were tragically killed are Sam Poloche and William Elliott of the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Officer Joshua Eyer, and Deputy US Marshal Thomas Weeks.

Biden's remarks in Wilmington came towards the end of the day, following his decision to alter his itinerary and pay his respects to the families of the fallen law enforcement officers.

“The entire nation is grieving with these families,” President Biden told the crowd in Wilmington.

Internet divided as Joe Biden chastised Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans

One X user remarked, "Biden's tirade against Republicans is a disgrace. Blaming them for voting against the American Rescue Plan is absurd. We need real solutions, not partisan finger-pointing."

Another user claimed, "Doesn't provide relief to the nation's poorest or uninsured so it wasn't a good plan. That's why they voted against it."

Another user said, "It wasn't clean drinking water they voted against."

One X user wrote, "Republicans voted against funding law enforcement, trying to reduce inflation, price gouging by Big Oil, and even getting baby formula on the store shelves. But twice with in the last year, GOP introduced more tax cuts for super-rich, aka the biggest reason for national debt."

Another user argued, "We cannot win an election by going against the voters' interests, making their quality of life worse and livelihood harder becos voters are likely to reject candidates or parties that prioritize special interests or ideologies over their well-being."

A user tweeted, "Basic decency..a hallmark of democracy."
