BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Robert F Kennedy Jr, the independent presidential candidate, took a playful jab at President Joe Biden during a news conference in Brooklyn on Wednesday.

The 70-year-old proposed a humorous "no spoiler" agreement, suggesting that whichever of the two candidates is less likely to defeat Donald Trump should drop out of the presidential race come October 2024, per the New York Post.

To determine the true "spoiler," RFK Jr proposed that he and President Biden co-fund a 50-state poll consisting of at least 30,000 likely voters.

This would ensure that the candidate who could potentially cause a victory for the 45th POTUS by continuing to campaign would be identified.

What did Robert F Kennedy Jr say to reporters on Wednesday?

“Ultimately, I think what we all want in this election is [for] Americans not to feel like they have to vote out of fear,” RFK Jr told reporters. “That they feel like they can vote out of hope. And that is only going to happen if there’s a two-way race between me and President Trump or me and President Biden.”

The poll would assess the probability whether Kennedy would emerge victorious against Trump in a straight-up contest and if Biden would defeat his predecessor once more.

Kennedy Jr's idea was promptly dismissed by the Democratic National Committee, which asserted that he had participated in the 2024 election race as a Donald Trump supporter.

DNC spokesperson Matt Corridoni remarked in a statement to the aforementioned outlet, “Robert F. Kennedy Jr is a spoiler-  recruited by the MAGA GOP and propped up by Trump’s largest donor. His ‘Veep’-like performance today does nothing to dispel that notion- it only reinforces how deeply unserious his campaign is.”

The Kennedy campaign seems to be gaining momentum and may pose a threat to President Biden's reelection bid.

In a recent 50-state poll conducted by John Zogby Strategies, Kennedy Jr emerged as the winner against President Biden and Trump in a two-way race.

The survey, which gathered opinions from over 26,000 people, revealed that Kennedy Jr secured 367 electoral votes compared to Biden's 171.

Against Trump, Kennedy barely achieved the required 270 electoral votes.

However, in a widely anticipated Trump-Biden rematch, the former President won by 294 electoral votes to 244, according to Zogby.

The Kennedy campaign manager, Amaryllis Kennedy, strongly urged Biden to step down, claiming that the 81-year-old incumbent "can not win" on November 5, “not in a two-way [race], not in a three-way [race].”

Jeremy Zogby, managing partner of John Zogby Strategies, commented that "the numbers speak for themselves," and Kennedy had been polling well "going back over a year."

“I’ve conducted 30 something polls and I’ve seen him consistently draw from both parties, equally… When you put it all together he’s polling pretty equally,” Zogby contended, adding, “He’s building a pretty substantial coalition of a mosaic of the political landscape.”
