MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: The former President of the United States, Donald Trump, launched a scathing attack on Robert F Kennedy Jr, an independent presidential candidate, on Friday, April 26.

This move came as a surprise, given that Trump had previously been promoting Kennedy as a likely rival to President Joe Biden in the upcoming November elections.

According to a report from The Hill, Trump's social media claims suggest that Kennedy is only running to aid Biden's reelection bid and that his running mate, Nichole Shanahan, is not a legitimate candidate.

What did Donald Trump say about Robert F Kennedy Jr on Truth Social?

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman wrote, “RFK Jr. is a Democrat “Plant,” a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected.”

He continued, “A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a WASTED PROTEST VOTE, that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him.”

The 2024 presumptive GOP nominee claimed, “Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet…”

"His Radicalized Family will never allow him to be a Republican, and his Chief “Funder” is the V.P. Candidate that nobody ever heard of, except her ex-husband, who’s been stripped of a big chunk of cash," the former POTUS remarked.

Trump added, "She puts herself down as a businesswoman, or maybe a doctor, and actually, I guess you could say that she’s right. Her business was doing surgery on her husband’s wallet! She’s more Liberal than Junior’ by far, not a serious person, and only a Pot of Cash to help get her No Chance Candidate on the Ballot…"

"I lived with RFK Jr. in New York and watched him convince Governor Cuomo to make Environmental moves that were outright NASTY. Upstate New York was not allowed to drill or frack as Ohio, Pennsylvania, and others ripped off New York Energy. Because of this, prices have skyrocketed all over that part of the Country, but especially Upstate New York and New England," he contended.

"Their Energy Costs are the highest in the U.S., with the exception of California, run by Gavin Newscum, the Worst Governor in the State’s History. I’d even take Biden over Junior’, because our Country would last a year or two longer prior to collapse - But it would be dead either way. His Views on Vaccines are FAKE, as is everything else about his Candidacy," Trump said, adding. "Let the Democrats have RFK Jr. They deserve him!"

Donald Trump seemed to have changed his stance as he suggested earlier that he would prefer Biden over Kennedy.

Interestingly, the ex-Commander-in-Chief had recently praised Kennedy's independent presidential campaign, which he deemed as "great for MAGA," referring to the “Make America Great Again” slogan he often uses in his campaign speeches and rallies.

RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters,” Trump wrote in March.

The former Republican statesman claimed, “I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America.”

“It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot,” he figured.

The former POTUS’s statements were made in light of recent findings from an NBC News poll, indicating that RFK Jr’s campaign has the potential to damage Trump's chances of returning to the White House come 2024.

Specifically, the poll revealed that in a head-to-head matchup, former President Donald Trump held a 2-point lead over his opponent, President Joe Biden.

However, the incumbent secured the lead when third-party candidates were included in the poll.

One user wrote, "@RobertKennedyJr is even more MAGA than Trump!"

Another X user quipped, "Ha, ha. That's 'cause recent polls suggest Kennedy will take more votes away from Trump than Biden."

A user tweeted, "That’s right, you should worry about RFK, he’s going to steal votes from you….you don’t have a prayer (you know what that is, don’t you?) in hell, of winning in November with him running!"
