Blake Lively snapped up Britney Spears' Versace dress from vintage clothing store for unbelievable price

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively recently indulged in a vintage fashion treasure, purchasing the iconic Versace dress famously worn by Britney Spears.

The 'Gossip Girl' actress reportedly spent around $10,000 on the glamorous piece, which she donned to pay tribute to the Princess of Pop at the premiere of her upcoming film, 'It Ends With Us.'

Blake Lively discovered the dress at Tab Vintage, a Los Angeles boutique known for its rare finds, after spotting it in a social media post.

A source revealed to TMZ that the silver screen star was taken aback by the price tag but quickly decided to purchase the dress—first showcased by Spears at the Versace fashion show in 2002.

According to insiders, Lively made the purchase six months ago and chose to wear the dress for her movie premiere on August 6.

At the New York City premiere of her upcoming romantic drama, set to hit theaters on August 9, Lively turned heads in the iconic dress but made minor alterations. However, she preserved the dress’s overall length. 

While the original gown swept the floor when Spears modeled it, Lively’s version grazed her ankles.

An insider close to Spears revealed that the singer was touched by the tribute. The 'Toxic' singer found Lively’s homage "adorable" and thought it was a "cool" gesture.

The high praise follows news that Spears is heavily involved in her upcoming biopic, including having the final say on casting.

However, it’s still early in the process, and no casting discussions have yet taken place regarding Blake Lively or others.

At the movie premier, Lively was seen alongside his 'Deadpool' star husband, Ryan Reynolds with Vogue posting an Instagram video, captioning, "It was mom and dad’s night out."

After showcasing her dress, Blake Lively celebrated Britney Spears in an Instagram Story, expressing admiration for the singer and her upcoming biopic.

Lively posted a photo of Spears in a vibrant Versace dress, writing, "Today's mood."

"The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories," she continued before addressing the pop star.

"Britney, us millennials all have a story of the moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work," she wrote.

"Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. So excited for your biopic and all you have to come," she concluded. 

'It Ends With Us' is a 2024 romantic drama film adapted from Colleen Hoover's 2016 novel of the same name.

The film follows Lily Bloom, a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and pursue her dream of opening a flower shop.

It stars Blake Lively as Lily, Justin Baldoni as Ryle, and Brandon Sklenar as Atlas, with Baldoni also serving as director, per People.
