LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A recent bike accident involving Pax Jolie-Pitt, the 20-year-old son of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, appears to have softened the long-standing tensions between the exes.
Pax was cruising down Los Feliz Boulevard in Los Angeles on July 29 when he collided with another vehicle, resulting in head and hip injuries that required hospitalization, as reported by OK Magazine.
Exes Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie seem to have calmed down after son Pax's bike accident
A source revealed to a news outlet that despite the prolonged legal disputes following their 2016 separation, the recent crash has "thawed the ice between Brad and Angie."
"Brad is terribly upset and still coming down from the shock of this all, but more than anything, he’s massively grateful that Pax is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. It’s tough not to worry about what the rehabilitation will really mean in the long term," added the insider.
The source added that Jolie, while maintaining some distance, has ensured that the 'Fight Club' actor is kept informed about their son's recovery.
They further mentioned, "For once, they seem to have calmed down and stopped the whole blame game. A lot of people in their worlds think the two might finally be able to sit down and talk things out."
The 60-year-old actor is said to have been distant from several of his children, including Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, since his split from Jolie.
However, according to the source, Pitt has been "sober for several years" and is a "changed man" compared to who he was back in 2016.
"But at least now Brad has a glimmer of hope," noted the tipster about his connection with his children, adding, "Angie could have shut him out after the accident, but she didn’t."
Pax was released from the ICU on August 5, a week after the accident. The Jolie-Pitt family is now focused on his recovery, surrounding him with support as he continues to heal.
"He needs plenty of rest, but when he’s awake, the whole family is by his side, watching movies and ensuring he has all his favorite foods," revealed the insider.
Brad Pitt remains hopeful for reconciliation after daughter Shiloh drops his last name
Brad Pitt is reportedly grappling with mixed emotions after his daughter, Shiloh Jolie, legally dropped his last name.
On August 19, Shiloh, who turned 18 in May, officially changed her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, a decision that insiders say Pitt had been bracing for. While the change has deeply affected him, sources close to the actor reveal that he continues to hold out hope for a future reconciliation with his children.
According to those familiar with the situation, the 'Fight Club' star has come to terms with his strained relationship with his children and ex-wife, Jolie.
"Brad knew this was coming and has accepted it as part of his life now," shared an insider. Despite the pain, Pitt remains supportive, stating that he will always be available for Shiloh and his other children whenever they need him.
Pitt and Jolie, who first met on the set of 'Mr & Mrs Smith' in 2004, got married in 2014 and went through a high-profile split in 2016. The fallout from their separation has led to a turbulent relationship between Pitt and his children.
A second source shared, "Brad truly feels that with Shiloh, as well as Vivienne and Knox, that when this divorce is over, and the lawsuits are far behind them they will take a good look in the mirror and realize that their father is a part of them."
Currently, Pitt is focusing on moving forward, putting his heartbreak behind him, and remaining optimistic that the future holds the possibility of reconciliation.
"Brad accepts that Shiloh has made this decision and although it does hurt, he also believes that the time will come when she sees everything for what it is," concluded the tipster.
