NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Bruce Springsteen is catching serious heat for once again going off on President Donald Trump.

The 74-year-old rock legend sat down with The New York Times for a wide-ranging chat published Wednesday, June 18. Currently on his “Land of Hope & Dreams Tour,” Springsteen said that his nightly setlists are crafted to speak directly to America’s status quo under the POTUS' grip.

“It’s an American tragedy,” he declared. “I think that it was the combination of the deindustrialization of the country and then the incredible increase in wealth disparity that left so many people behind. It was ripe for a demagogue. And while I can’t believe it was this moron that came along, he fit the bill for some people.”

Looking back on Trump’s first few months in office after winning a second term, Springsteen insisted that “what we’ve been living through in the last 70 days is things that we all said, ‘This can’t happen here. This will never happen in America.’ And here we are.”

Bruce Springsteen versus Donald Trump

Bruce Springsteen had called the Trump administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous” during a May concert in Manchester, England.

But Trump didn’t let Springsteen’s on-stage rant slide. A few weeks ago, he took to Truth Social and unleashed on the rocker.

“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump raged. “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK … This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT.”

He also claimed that Kamala Harris paid Springsteen and other stars to endorse her campaign.

Trump even posted a meme of himself swinging a golf club and “hitting” Springsteen with the ball, causing the latter to trip on stage.

In his New York Times interview, Springsteen lamented the fate of migrants in light of Trump’s ICE policies.

“There’s a large migrant population that lives and has altered Freehold in a very vibrant way,” he said about his New Jersey hometown. “There are communities all across America now that have taken in immigrants and migrant workers. So what’s going on at the moment to me is disgusting, and a terrible tragedy.”

But the Boss says he still believes in America. “Because we have a long democratic history,” he explained. “We don’t have an autocratic history as a nation. It’s fundamentally democratic, and I believe that at some point that’s going to rear its head and things will swing back.” He added, “Let’s knock on wood.”

Bruce Springsteen slammed on social media over his remarks

Bruce Springsteen faced quite a backlash on social media after he called Donald Trump a "moron" and "an American tragedy."

"The American Tragedy ended when Joe Biden left the White House. Bruce may be the only American who doesn't know that," one user posted on X.

"Bruce Springsteen, how dare you call Trump a moron who’s the one gave all that money to Biden look in the mirror because to me you’re the moron," another fumed.

"Dem lib Party political activist trashing 77M voters while asking them to buy a ticket. I wouldn't walk across the street to watch him, if the concert was free," read a comment.

"Ya, such a moron, our wages are going up, especially for minorities, inflation is going down & more jobs are being created. Who listens to this has been?" someone else asked.

"What is it with the old, Rich, White liberals? A vast majority of the boomers and a large portion of Gen X are complete morons," another added.
