Bunnie Xo recalls Mother's Day argument that led to Jelly Roll divorce
The education update comes weeks after it was reported that Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Later, the media producer revealed on her 'Dumb Blonde Podcast' that an argument between the pair on Mother's Day ultimately led to the divorce.
She explained, “On Mother's Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don't think the details are necessary. And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, 'Well, then file the divorce papers.'”
“It was not mutual. Even though I told him to file the divorce papers, I was speaking out of anger and frustration. But was it necessary for us to have a wakeup call and to actually start having these real conversations? Absolutely,” she added.
Despite the emotional turmoil, Bunnie Xo said she and her estranged husband are “ending this marriage on the best possible terms that you could ever have a divorce.”
The former couple were married for nearly a decade. They do not share any biological children but co-parent daughter Bailee Ann and son Noah Buddy DeFord from Jelly Roll's previous relationships.
Bunnie Xo says she and Jelly Roll still plan to have a baby together
Bunnie Xo also revealed that her divorce from the 41-year-old rapper has not changed their plans to welcome a child together.
“We're literally settling our divorce in like... We've done it in like, what? Three weeks? Two weeks? We're still having a baby together,” she said.
She added, “So, we have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered. We're going to co-parent together.”
Despite ending their marriage, Bunnie Xo said they remain committed to building their family together while continuing to co-parent in their own unconventional way.
