'Cancel this show': Whoopi Goldberg mocked for suggesting great stripper name inspired by Tucker Carlson on 'The View'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' kicked off on an unusual note the morning of February 15 when moderator Whoopi Goldberg interrupted herself while introducing the first Hot Topic of the day. She had a sudden thought of a "great stripper name" inspired by Tucker Carlson.

In fairness to Goldberg, the topic at hand was Carlson himself.

The hosts found humor in the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin seemed to have outmaneuvered Carlson during their recent meeting in Moscow, with Putin even expressing his dissatisfaction about it.

The segment on the show began as Goldberg said, "This is crazy, okay? Tucker Carlson basically handed a megaphone to one of America's biggest threats by airing his social media sit-down with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And get this, even Putin criticized the interview."

"Yeah, he was on Russian state TV and said he wasn't fully satisfied with Tucker, who didn't ask the tough, probing questions he expected. Then Putin went on to express his preference for President Biden, calling him more predictable," the host continued. 

As Goldberg posed the question, "Did Tucker play right into Putin's hands?" she was suddenly struck with an idea.

"Ooh, I'm gonna change my name! I just thought of a great stripper name," she exclaimed.

Her co-hosts, puzzled by the sudden turn, inquired about the words that sparked her inspiration. Goldberg clarified with a grin, "Tucker Putin!"

The name elicited hearty laughter from the hosts, particularly as Goldberg playfully imagined the introduction of this fictional character, Tucker Putin, onto the stage.
